One bar would be a far forward as it could go and the other would be as far back as it could go.
Thanks!

On to the pics.

This one usually has 4 sprocket rockets on it with no fairing.

This one usually sports 2 copperheads, a basketcase, and a fairing.

DOES anyone use the black stickers With the Yak racks to prevent scratches? I wanted toput on 3m hood protector film but cant find it anywhere.
also
Doeas anyone notice a slight bend in the middle of the bars or is it an optical illuson due to the curvature of the roof? or are the q towers on too tight or too close together
Thanks?

i did notice a slight bend in the middle of the rack, dont know if its just an illusion or not, i got the black stickers on mine and they work good, no marks or anything
I used the vinyl on mine; just wrapped it around the inside of the Q Clips. I also used some clear vinyl (really heavy stuff used on the leading edges of airplane parts) on the paint to further protect it.
The bars seem straight to me when the rack is unloaded. I think the curve may be an optical illusion.

I don't suppose anyone makes a vintage basket (like the ones you'll sometimes see on nicely finished bugs) that fits on modern thule or yakima racks do they? something where when the need occured, you could take it off and mount bicycle or kayak carrying equipment, but in the meantime have a nice pseudo-vintage touch?
Thanks.
