Lowes has them in the specialty fasteners area.

Where did you get the plug, what size did you go with... Hope to do this to my TCM this week.
I found it at Ace Hardware in the specialty fasteners and such aisle. It was in a grey box with many different sizes. I believe I used the 1 inch.
Found the part! Seems like the 1 1/8" is too large and the 1" is too small. I found a black plastic one that fits real nice. I am going to attempt to paint it but not sure what it will look like.

Someone who has some paint skills should buy these things, paint them and sell them for $15... i'd buy it.

The size isn't perfect. The prongs have to be bent out when installing the metal ones and that holds it in place but not completely motionless. Whatever you use to seal it with will secure it.

Ok, I bought a brushed steel plug and tried to paint it with touch up paint. It looks awful, u can totally see the brushstrokes. I tried 2 more layers hoping it would flatten out, and even put on a 2 coats of Meguiar's COLORx but alas, it's still craptastic. How can I make it nice and even like the finish on the car?

I used a Sink hole cover and a rubber washer to keep the water out.

Where did you get the paint and what was the process of sanding and clearing?

I bought the paint from www.paintscratch.com . I wet sanded with 600 grit, then primed, wet sanded again. Then sprayed the color and then the clear. A little rubbing compound after it was dry and then installed it.

Thats what i'm going to attempt this weekend, I've got a 7 inch monitor that I'll be replacing the rearview mirror with and it will have a constant feed to the back up camera. (If all goes well)

The guy that sells them is in Japan on ebay he has 1 like mine and 1 with leds and you can get it with a monitor that clips on the rear view mirror. I just got the camera for 19.95+s@h.. I would do some reserch on the led camera before I got it cause I don't know how flush it will sit and if it fits the hole?
