Default A simple solution to the rear wiper hole

Im a sheet metal worker by trade,so here is MY answer to the rear-wiper hole for those who dont wanna look at the useless wiper. Now before any of you start whining 'bout pictures, use you imagination.I removed the rear wiper assy.,then took a 3" round( diameter) piece of 22 gauge galvanized sheet metal, and another piece of galvanized that i etched(removed the galvanizing with muriatic acid). The etched piece was the same diameter as the hole left by the wiper assy.I purposely didnt state the diameter of this piece because it may vary from car to car(if even only a hair or two). The etched piece was then spot-welded to the 3" piece.I sanded it nice n smooth ,then used liquid nails to adhere to my rear hatch, from the inside.Prior to fastening it,I had some Polar white left over from a body-shop visit and painted it to match my box and ...Voila!! NO PIX,but you get the point, right?!

I know what it is. Generally used for wood. Just curious why you wouldn't use epoxy or jbweld?

^^^^ LOL

Yes Yes that is what he did in a very confusing welding lingo kind of way.

I just took sulfuric acid and burned some 1/2 inch stainless steel by ossmosis and then I took som butter and toasted it to the inside of my car and pulled out my trusty paint chip painter and painted it. Viola!

Ok im sorry I had to make up something because I didn't understand much of what you said. Ill take my $1 hole plug and paint it. If it works for you more power to ya. Sounds like you did a good job.

I think the difference from your hole plug is that this would be almost flush.

My the way,Moron,Osmosis only has 2 "s" and A Viola is a sort of violin...If it'll help ,I'll put it in sub-Laymens terms..."I took sum shiny crap and stuck em together, then stuck that shiny crap into the square jaloppy thingamajig "...and your 1 dollar plug took you longer to go the store and spend a dollar(plus gas) than it took me to shear out2 small round discs and spot em together....Fab time was about 6 minutes, material free..Its funny how a simple idea and relaying to people who might be interested gets replies from a bunch o' ignorant hillbillys.

Well I must be a moron since you didn't get my humor. It was only ment to be funny. So reach around, pull the panties out of the crack, step back from the keyboard, and breathe deeply. It will be ok.

Why not read the second portion of my post where I said "if it works for you more power to you. It sounds liek you did a good job" Thats called giving you props. Damn sensitive people. People need to smile and lighten up.

So once again I say. It seems to have worked for you. Good job.
