SL500 Headlight wipers on a box
I used to drive a Volvo s50 with headlight wipers, but never saw the point. I guess it gets the road muck off during snow season. They didn't have a separate contol, rather were on the same circuit / control as the main wipers.

I found a set of motors and wipers off a mid 90's E class for the right price, I am gonna wire these to a rocker switch in my center dash.
It's just gonna be something that stands out, I know it's not going to serve any purpose at all other than being an excellent conversation starter and a pretty cool idea.
I will post pics of the progress so stay tuned.

I thought about doing the same thing when I had my stock headlights. If M-B parts are too expensive or too hard to find, check out the headlight wipers from a Saab 900 or 9000. Those are the ones I was going to use. More readily available and probably a lot cheaper. Plus the 900 headlight was a big rectangle just like our.
I've got Ichikohs on my xB and have thought about finding the headlight wipers that were on some '80s BMW 3-series.

thanks for the info rygar, i was looking into the saab and volvo wipers but found a set of E series wipers and motors on ebay for the right price so i picked them up.
i got the wipers in yesterday and its gonna be sick if i can get it to work. my only issue will be the curvature of the bumper and the space between the bottom of the headlight to mount the motor.
i am gonna mock them up when it stops raining and will post pics, i think i made a good choice with the E class wipers

got the wipers in the mail, just held them up to the headlights and its basically spot on with the fitment.
the only problem i am going to have is the curvature of the bumper, on the mercedes, there is a 2+ inch section under the headlight and before the bumper. on the box it goes straight from headlight to curvature of the bumper.
its been raining a lot here so i havent been able to do anything yet.

Looking forward to seeing this. While i drive a xA i think it will be a sick mod for your box.
As for them not doing anything, that is not true, as they can keep mud /snow off the lenses and they just look pimp.
