Sonar Projector Headlamps Installed... Should I have re-seal
#21
Lemme dig through my pics.
Doesn't look like I have any daytime pics. Now that it's getting nicer here I'll get some pics soon. I do have this one with the headlights off and halos on though.

Another question.
Has anybody successfully used HID's in the sonar high beam section? If so what bulb code are they. I dont feel like taking them apart to figure out what bulb type it is.

They're H1, but honestly, you probably will never need to use the highbeam. For flashing, you don't want em, because they don't have the time to warm up. If you wanna swap em out, get some 100W superbright halogens or something.

Well, the harness is broken up with the sonars, so you're never risking the stock wiring. Plus, high beams aren't really designed for steady use anyway. Even where it's dark and there aren't street lights, you're dousing them when oncoming traffic is around, etc. That kinda of on/off usage will kill an HID bulb pretty quickly.
I just put 7000K 55w H1 bulbs in my highbeam housing, they match the color of my 55w 8000K HID really well.

I routiinely drive from AZ to CA on the I-10 during the middle of the night and that 300 mile stretch of road is DARK. There are portions where I will have my brights on for an hour or more. Thats why im going to switch to HID's for the high beams. Not because I want to flash people.

Fogging and the HIDs
These say on them not to use HIDs, so I suppose you can do what you want but eventually it may cause a heat problem. I'm not certain if you'll also need different wiring.
As for fogging, I got some partial in mine this past winter and fall, it froze also, but seems to vent/evaporate after a couple days which wasn't bad.
I thought about sealing them, but if people are sealing them and still getting moisture/fogging, then it prolly ain't worth it for me to take them all the way out and do this.

How much play do the adjustments have? My driver side low-beam aimed really high and is blinding people. I have turned the adjustment both ways and neither seem to move the beam. Any ideas? Did you use a screw driver?

I got it taken care of yesterday.
Just in case anyone else has a problem with your aiming here is what I found.
The adjustment that is located on the top of the light and is easier to get to will direct the projector up and down and the adjustment that is toward the bottom of the light and is a pain in the A$$ to get to will do left and right.
These adjustments will turn a lot before it even looks like its doing anything. Although once it starts to to move your good to go. I had to turn my driver side light about 20 times to the left before I got results. Also like stated before these are slightly tight an you may need a screw driver to assist.
