Default To spoil or not to spoil, that is the question...

Just wondering, if my plan was to buy a completely stock xB, would it be better (cost effective) to go ahead and get the spoiler from the factory or do it myself? My concern is if I'm gonna put some bass in the ride, I don't want any vibration or rattle. If they install the factory one, is it pretty secure? Or can an aftermarket one be secured well also? Thanks for the help...

The wing doesn't make a peep. Believe me, I've got 1800w pushing in the trunk. The plate and wiper on the other hand are annoying as hell. I took of the AEM liscence cover off which helps alot and put dynamat under the plate but I still need to take off the wiper, then everything will be peachy keen.

Be different and stick on an aftermarket wing, like the universal metal hatchback versions.

yeah, my wing is quiet, even with the bumps in the trunk...i agree, the only rattles are the licence plate and the wiper
i think it would be better to get it from the dealer cuz it is already painted to match, if you buy an aftermarket, it might be cheaper but then you have to have it painted.

Damn, your like a brand new member 11-9-03...Anyways, I was talking about a wing you'd find on a civic. Like a universal metal wing. Check around in the gallery for jdm bodykits and a lot of them have metal wings that look good. We just haven't gotten to that stage yet.

I guess like everything else I get some time to think about it due to the fact I can't get one til Feb. I am leaning toward the factory installed, I agree with the painted to match idea. And I am not sure if I am ready to "think outside the BOX' regarding aftermarket spoilers, other than installing an OEM one myself. Just wanted some input for Ya'll!!!

the JDM spoiler (I think it's the same as the US one) can be found for like $179...My plan is to buy a stock xB with just the security system. I'll buy everything else afterwards...

btw, showpaojoe... My Uncle Joe makes soipao..heh =P

Has anyone installed the JDM? Does it vibrate with some bass?

The JDM spoiler is the exact same wing as the USDM one.

The japanese spoiler that most places are selling is the exact same wing that you can get when you buy your factory spoiler.

The stock spoiler is my favorite one, as of now. My concern is two-fold. I would like to save some money if I can do it myself, but I don't want to suffer from "spoiler sporadic-rattle-itis"! So if the factory installed one prevents that, then that is what I will do. Remember an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!!!
