Tinting question...
I have an appointment on Monday the 28th to get my 2 front windows tinted to match the factory tint already there. What is the average price you guys have paid to get this done. I'm going to Machines of Mayhem and they are charging me $65+ tax. Is that a good price? How is the privacy at this level? Also, can you guys that have this done, post some pics?

I'm actually a tinter at Audio Depot in Arlington, Tx and for two windows we charge $45+ Tax, and thats with top quality film and lifetime warranty. 60+ for just the two fronts seems a bit much. If your gonna go for it, make sure that theres somekind of warranty. I actually did my whole car. I got 30% on front, 15% on quarters, and 5% on back.

I paid $60, good film, lifetime warranty against fading, peeling, scratching, bubbling. The 20% looks very good. I got the visor done as well, and I had him cut it to be even across the top, which looks so much better than the standard visor.. Here are some (overused) pics:

I had 10% on the front windows on mine and an additional 20% on everything else. I got ticketed though and decided to take it off and make it legal, 35%, rather than risking another ticket. They said that next time it would be a $500 ticket.

oh yay... ANOTHER tint thread..... the price of whatever you're doing (tint wise) varies widely upon what area you live in. what may be 45 in one town may be 70 in another... it's whatever the market supports. There are other factors that may affect the price - like maybe the higher price guy removes the panels so the tint goes past the 2nd seal in the door - or he shaves the edges so there is zero edge gap at the top edge of the glass. Anyhow - there are variables - alot of them. If you're willing to pay the price - then it's a good deal (and if price is the #1 concern - then you'll probably end up at craphole dirty shop with crackhead pot smoking alcoholic window tinters.)
