i'm trying to decide if i want to take off my cf b,c&d pillar appliques and i've heard that under that there is some black tape and under that is paint. I'm seriously considering this but i'd like to see what it looks like before i do it.

Has anyone heard/done this?

its true. I havent done it but seen many pics on here of it. Its a personal choice that some people really liked. by the way if you end up selling your cf pillars pm me witha price.

Imo, I think the Box looks ugly with the black tape removed cause it makes the Box look smaller, due to the color behind the tape, breaking up the glass! That's just me though...

Thanks, That was from my wife playing with her new star filter. I also keep it shinier than it was new. The more I polish it, the more the orange peel smooths out.

 

that mod is soo last year i have it done on my car. people seem to like it on darker colored xBs.

 

mine is the same color, that is the best picture ive seen it turned out really good for you..............i just dont know if i want to do it

 

Don't sweat it Matt. If you do eventually do it you can always go back with some black vinyl and cover it back up. I may eventually cover it up with some gloss black so it shines like the glass for a better match.

It looks BAD on light-colored xB's since the door sill doesn't go all the way to the back window edge. When I went two-toned they painted the sill, I had to have new vinyl put over it. Shouldn't look too bad on a dark xB though. The Black Sand Pearl doesn't even come with the tape stock.

mines the lightest color you can get and i think it looks good.

 

The lighter colors would look better if some strips of vinyl were installed around the borders of rear window to make it match the doors. Otherwise it does look a little odd.

 

Why does the Op's current ride bar show "Scion XB RS1" when its a BCP?

Anyway...Ive done it too, take your time if you plan on doing it...
