Default Water spots?!

So like, everytime I wash my car now, I see these water spots. Mainly 1.) On all of my windows and 2.) The top of my car. I assume the top is from letting the water on top dry, and theres probably still some soap too. I use Turtlewax, and some other car stuff my sister had. But as far as the windows, I Cant seem to get them cleaner. I use different types of window cleaners but I still get these weird waterspots. Any suggestions?

The spots are from the minerals in the water. Look at the tech section for detailing. You can use a clay bar to get the car really clean. Have you tried the Mr Clean Autodry system? The last rinse has the water run through a filter that basically softens the water----so no more spots.

Very interesting. I've never heard of a clay bar before actually! I shall look more into those, can you usually get them at your average auto store? I might drop in and buy one. And I've also heard of and seen the mr clean autodry around but never knew exactly what made it so special. Did a quick google, looks pretty nifty. I might invest in one of those. But what about the current waterspots that seem to never go away? How can I get rid of those? Mainly on my windows. Because no matter what kind of cleaner I use they are still visible standing next to the car. I want it to be sparkling clean ;) Thanks for the quick reply!

dry your car in shaded areas too.
get a squeeqee and wipe them off.

if not, the clay car method or Stoner's glass cleaner.

It might also be old tree sap that has dried out. You only really notice it when the car is dry.

Go to www.Autopia.org , everything you ever wanted to know about car detailing is there. For the windows, try a solution of water and vinegar, if that doesnt work, you may need to get a dedicated window polish.

Yes wash and dry in the shade. Use only soap made for cars. If the spots are real bad and window cleaner or a claybar won't fix it I used some wet dry sandpaper and removed spots on my eclipse. Good luck.

Thanks guys thats pretty helpful, I guess I should start practicing some better carwashing skills haha. I TRY and wash when there is shade but its hard to find the right time to do it. The trees arent really pollenating as much as they were early spring, but I tried washing my car and I ended up just getting it covered with pollen. That really sucked. But Im going to try the homemade water/vinegar solution for right now to see how that cleans the windows. If not, I'm out to buy some more stuff. thanks
