Default Why no fender flares??

I have seen allot of post about allot of subjects.
Wings,ground effect kits,etc.
One thing I have not read or seen pictures of,other than the normal sources, are people who have put fender flares on their box.
Why is that?Is it because they look hidious?Becaus ethey are hard to get ahold of?
I was just curious as I like them, in good taste on the right ride.
Just an observation I was curious about.

I guess the main reason why you don't hear about or see them around is because most of the people with the xB's are running wheel and tire packages that don't really require them. Unless you are running a nice wide set of wheels there really is no need to use the flares, unless you want it to look somewhat stupid. Anyways, I'm getting a set put on my car and once it's done I'll post some shots. If you're interested www.teamprototype.com sells them.

You have to drill em into the fenders. The problem with the fender flares is that they aren't molded onto the car and there for you see the gap/weather stripping and to me it doesn't look good. Not only that but the rear thins out as it passes under the door which ruins the clean line anyway.

I'm sure you've seen em before but the scionfx, longo, and highonlife xB's have em

i have been thinking about trying to get a set, but use something to attach them that is not so permanent like drilling or molding.

I think they're cool when you've got the wheels to fill them. Some people do it without wide wheels, but I haven't quite figured out the appeal. Check out the pics:

This (not even close to flush)

people can't even manage to get rims to be flush with
their STOCK fenders...

i think after we overcome that obstacle, we can start
talking about making the car 2" wider....

i think i know why they do that.
it's so there can be NO POSSIBLE WAY that their tires can throw ANY debris onto their vehicle. by the looks of those fat, angelina jolie lips, you could hit a 3" deep mud hole at 75 mph and the car would come out spotless!

that's my scientifical thoery
