Ugh, I got my new "in channel" window guards in today and when I installed them, they were off by about 1/16th of an inch so the **** on the window frame didn't fit in the groove for it.

My question is what the hell is that **** for and how do you get it off?

 

I don't remember what it is for, but you can just slide it forward or backwards to line it up. mine was about an inch off, and I just slid it forward.

 

hmmm, i tried to slide it and it wouldn't move, guess I just have to put some strength into it.

 

It keeps your window lined up. Don't remove it.

So it's ok to move them, just not to remove them right?
