I just completed 10,000 miles on my xB and I just wanted to mention a few things. Can you believe this, not one door ding, squeak or a rattle... I just hope that I don't jinx myself anytime soon... You just gotta LOVE SCION!

i know i'll be surpassing 10k mark fairly soon since i commute. and it sure is a fun car to commute in. right now i am about to pop 400 miles and i just got it last sat.

 

congrats on the milestone, but more congrats on the ding-free car.

lets see... i'm only about to roll over 20,000 soon and here's what I've been through...

Passenger Side Mirror Dinged (black paint taken off) -- 1 week after I bought my car.
Whole Bumpber replaced/LeftFender Replaced -- 3 months after having car (Sister did damange while I was out in Las Vegas and Los Angeles on Vacation!!!!)
Passenger Side Door Ding Curtosey of Target/Handicap Parker -- 6 months after I bought it
Cracked Winshield replaced, then re-replaced since place messed it up the first time (LAST WEEK!!!!)

Just topped 25k mark with no problems with over 20k having been highway driving. My windshield has 4 small dings/cracks. My whole front end is marked by stones and other highway debris, but so is my other car so i cant complain.

 

Hmmmm depressing....I bought mine June 18th 2004 and I now have 42,000 miles....I did 33,000 miles since Jan. 3rd of 2005

 

bought mine 2 Dec 05 and just surpassed 6000 miles. alot of high way driving.

 

Drive belts or timing belt/chain.

i got mine in july and i hit 11,000 miles already

Hi guys, can you post your average mileage ? I have an '06 with 900 miles on it and so far in city driving I'm getting 25 - 26 mpg. I'm not complaining, just curious to see if after more miles on it I should see an improvement.
I really like the xB and I'm expecting to get 28 - 30 mpg on highway driving. Any comments ?

I bought my Box in February of 2005...

 

owned since june 04" and show 24K no dings and orginal windshield. Knock on wood. LOL Never back to the dealer for anything.

 

They get better with more miles.

Mine did around 27~28 first tank. Each fill, did about 1/2 mpg better until now (about 5400 miles since 10/23/05) gets consistent 31/31.5 with a high of 32.5.

Auto, and Mobil-1 @500 miles. 90% fwy, doing 70~80 most times unless the SoCal rush hour slows you down. Then its more like 10~20! 40 miles each way to work.

Oh btw, check your tire pressure! I'm running 30psi on stockers.

 

I got my xB last Tuesday and have logged around 1200 miles. I'm getting between 30 and 33 MPG. That's 50 miles each way to work, 40 or so interstate at 75-80 MPH, and 10 stop and go grid lock in Jackson. I'm pleased with that very much.

 

i'd go crazy if i had to drive that far to work! i think 15 miles to work is bad!

 

Shorter is always better, but its a great job, trust me. And besides with any shorter drive, I couldn't enjoy my box and 900w eD audio system as much!
