Default 2,637 mile trip '05 xB

Last month three of us took a 2,637 mile trip through West Texas, New Mexico, Eastern Utah, southwestern Colorado and back. My 05 Scion xB performed marvelously. She didn’t race up the mountains but still made the climb with little or no problem. We had a cartop carrier box mounted and my guess is that when close to being overweight if not a bit over.

This little vehicle is very impressive, not as comfortable as I would like, yet extremely reliable, inexpensive to operate and fun to drive. Our overall mileage for this trip was 29 MPG.

I primarily use this vehicle for work as a computer consultant and service tech.

I drove my '06 xB cross-country from the Bay Area to Miami last year, racking up 7238 miles, and averaging 44.7 mpg for the entire trip.

Good deal. In the very near future, I'm driving 2600 miles from western NY to northern CA for a new job (I'll be able to visit snow, and never shovel it!), and I expect nothing less than smooth running from the box. I've put 25k on it since I've had it, and it's been largely trouble-free (except for the dead ABS sensor that I refuse to fix).
