3rd Brake Light Overlay

3rd Brake Light Overlay
OK time for a dumb question. I bought a 3rd Brake Light overlay from Randode Racing. Well I think I am the stupidest person but where does it go, on the window or on the red lense over the brake light? Please someone help. The easiest Mod in the world and I am lost, I wonder what will happen when i get up to bigger mods.

One would assume that sticking it on the window would lead to tears and cuts from debris as well as punks/vandals.....It's location is right there in the name - brake light overlay. Not rear window overlay. Geez

Don't feel bad, I had the same question.
The surface of the brakelight is ridged and the thing wouldn't stick right, IMO. I've also read where Randode mentioned that they were just an overlay so if a cop was going to write you up, you could just peel it off and then order another one later so I got the impression it was for the outside of the glass...
I didn't want to stick it on the outside and get more washmitt lint. I took off my brake light and stuck it on the inside of the glass and put the brake light back on. My design, however is the same forwards or backwards so it wasn't an issue. I'll post pics soon.

I got my bB overlay on monday... Installed in 5 min, looks great.... Just stick it to the rigid brake light surface... Don't try to stick it in every little ridge, just stick it over the thing and put it back together...

Super easy just be careful taking that thing off. When it pops off you will think you broke it. I used a fine pointed pokey tool to help lay the graphic in place as I pulled the outer coating off.......

ha, pokey tool. . . i like that.
But i had a question TheScionicMan said somethin about a cop writin you up. they can do that? not tryin to make a smart @ss comment or anything, i really didnt know that.

they can write you up. depending on your local laws and regulations.
heres a general statement i can rely on.
your brake lights must work. left right and center.
the lights cannot be obstructed or covered to impare vision of the light.
i would fail a car if it came in for inspection with some type of cover on it. but it depends on the town or area your in. Id check your local officials
