Default Accelleration noise on new XB

Got my XB last week love her - will post pictures soon! This is probably normal but being the "older" person that I am - wondering if this is what they all sound like - when accellerating it sounds like I have a bad muffler - once I get up to speed it's fine but that loud noise is bugging me - anything to do about it?

My 21 year old daughter is now looking for an XB or XA for herself - we will be a Scion family!

They DO have a slight rumbly sound, but it is normal. I kind of like the sound myself, doesn't sound so wimpy :-)

I plan on getting either the floor insulated w/ sound deadening material or switching out the exhaust as its to loud for me.

I have pinpointed a similar noise to something in the exhaust just in front of the rear tire. I have not had time to get under there and look since I noticed it.

Default Noise

I have had many rattles on my 05 - fixed at dealer and still have one left.

First was speedo "Glass" which was secured and then trim around speedo had to be secured.

Next was hood - rubber bumpers were adjusted and those seem to be working correctly.

At 31,000 I had intermittent rattles from engine. They replaced both belts at N/C and those rattles are cured.

Now at 33,000 the rattles around the speedo are back - could be under dash - and I am going to bring it back in to get that fixed.

I do agree you hear rumbling and a faint whine on acceleration - but those seem to be normal engine and fuel injection noise.

I love this car but hate the rattles!!!

stock exhaust is sooo quiet to me.

what you could do is have a muffler shop weld in a longer
resonator. as well as swap out your muffler for a quieter one.

they call these stock mufflers sport tuned mufflers. yeah right. quiet non efficient mufflers is what stock mufflers are. but different strokes for different folks.
