Default Aftermarket Gastank

The only gripe i have about my xB these days is the range. I can probably go 250 miles or so before i have to refill. has anyone heard of or considered an aftermarket gas tank? maybe 4 more gallons would be great, and i wouldnt think it would add that much more weight.

How about something like this?

This one is in Camo, but they might paint to match...

That was one of the first things that I thought of. I'll bet that Toyota got cheap and used the Echo tank, even though the xB gets less mileage than the Echo.

Unfortunately, the gas tank space in the underbody is pretty much filled by the tank. There isn't any room to expand unless you expand downward, and the ground clearance is already pretty tight.

You could put an auxilary tank behind the rear axle, provided you don't mind a safety level similar to a F*rd Pinto.

Too bad there aren't gas stations every couple hundred miles, that would solve the whole problem...

I like to stop where I want to, not where there is gas!
