Default aftermarket sunroof

Has anyone put an aftermarket sunroof on your box? Around how much did it cost, and does anyone have a quote for one? pics??

most quotes I've found are between a grand to 1500ish...depending on the size of sunroof and region location.

I love my Sunroof. And I got it installed, with a new headliner, for $1500.00

It's sweet.

Does anyone have the smaller one? I mean, a 52" sounds soooo wonderful, but man, I'm on a tight budget. ahah

How long does an installation take anyway? I plan to get one in the near future because i need to have some air in that empty roof space

The install: I left it with my dealer on Monday, picked it up Wednesday. They installed it Monday, Tuesday it cured, and Wednesday they were done. The price also included the new headliner, as I mentioned. You know, I would rather wait for it to be done right, then have it rushed.
And I had a free rental, via the dealer, so that was cool.

And, you may be on a tight budget...but man, is this roof worth it.

i'll agree with boxcar ... the roof is def worth the extra cost over the standard sunroof ... its insane how much glass this roof has ....

let me clarify what the 1 day it took them was ... i dropped it off Tues at 8 am .. it was done Wed at noon ... (didnt want anyone to think it was done SAME day ..that would have worried me) as the above poster said .. the sealant def needs time to dry

and whatever you do .. MAKE SURE they dont move your domelight to the back .. its POINTLESS to have it there .. have em move it up front

I put in a sunroof that I got thru the dealer cost 1250.00 installed. electric with tilt. Glass goes back beween the roof and the headliner. Suppose to rain here this weekend so will see if it leaks (keep fingers crossed)

I can only imagine what kind of wind noise comes in if you drove on the highway with that sunroof opened...Looks hot though! You guys installed the pano roofs through the dealer?

I did, yes. As to the noise, well...

Here is the deal, for me at least.
Highway speeds here...

With the TOP open, and windows up: I won't lie to you, there is NOISE.
With the TOP open, windows OPEN as well: No more noise then if you just had the windows down. In fact, you can hear others talking and music, fine.
With the TOP closed, windows up: Some wind noise, if the wind is bad that day, but this is the sound of wind crossing that wind shield part of the roof.

Now, just tooling around town?

With the TOP open, and windows up: Not bad. Some noise.
With the TOP open, windows OPEN as well: No big deal. Nice in fact.
With the TOP closed, windows up:Unless it's a windy day, no problem. Quiet as the stock roof.

Hope that helps.

the excessive noise is due to the DEFLECTOR .. the position its in when the roof is in open .. its standing to high vertically so its like a wall when the wind hits it ..

boxcar - try this next time u are on the highway ... put your hand on the deflector and push it down (it wont damage it) and listen to how little noise there is ...

i wish it didnt go so far forward .. it would be perfect

Mine was done same day - in less than 4 hours. 3 guys were working on it and it was a very good job. It all depends on who is doing the work.
