honestly i dont like them....I worked for a towing company up North & i have seen these rip the nose off of a dudes face by the door of the airbag hooking on to the tip of the nose it wasn't a pretty site and he only hit a dog.

Then I have seen other ridiculous accidents turn into serious ones caused by the airbag deployment.

^^^It's people like you who take the very small minority of the negative aspects of safety features and turn it into an excuse to do something stupid like not wear a seatbelt because you heard of one guy 5 years ago who would have lived had he gotten thrown out of his car. If airbags were at all a safety hazard, they would not be manditory on all new cars.

I may be wrong but here in the states it is a felony to remove a working airbag.
But I dont think they can force you to replace a blown one.

When I was a wee lad, I used to hear guys talk about Corvettes: "Because the hood opens facing the driver, the engine would end up in the driver's lap. You couldn't PAY me to have one of those."

Translation: "I cannot afford a Corvette". These old myths have been replaced with internet myths.

If he wants to remove his airbag that's his choice. plain and simple. Anyway back to the original topic... The best way would be to just pull the bulb and forget about it. Then later if you sell it just put it back along with the airbag. Thats what I did with a Neon.

I'm thinking of putting on my Grant 3 spoke wheel. I'm waiting for the wheel mount kit that Grant is going to produce for the xB.
The only problem I can see is with the insurance if you get in a wreck.

If this were the case, BMW wouldn't have sold any cars. They open this way incase the latch fails at speed... you don't get a hood obscuring your view then.

ya'll need to quit being such a$$es. For the record, I yanked my wheel out too, and repalced it with a nice shiney billet specialties model.. I dont want one (airbag), dont like one, and nobody is gonna tell me I gotta have one. Every car I have ever owned didn't have one, and, yes, I have been in a wreck without one. I wear my seatbelt, always have. Seatbelts have saved a bunch more lives than have airbags. I could make the argument that the turbo somebody wants to put on their scion is going to allow that vehicle to travel and higher rates of speed, and possibly kill a the driver from impact at those speeds, not to mention all the subwoofer boxes in cars (scions) that are not bolted down.. but that is another rant. If the man wants an aftermarket steering wheel, he has already thought of the implications, so get off his back.

..oh, and by the way..I have a trailer hitch on mine too..and no head-rests...man, I'm a glutten for punishment huh..

I can't help you on-topic, but to be honest I don't like airbags either. I've been in a super nasty wreck before with my sister who can't drive, and she certainly didn't have airbags. Didn't even get a scratch on us, maybe a sore shoulder and ribs the next day, but that's about it. I dont' know what the problem is, if you're wearing your seatbelt you shouldn't fly out the car or hit your noggin on the steering wheel/windshield to begin with. Why is everyone acting like you're about to jump off a bridge or something? Loosen up people, my god.

I have the pass disable on my own scion.....BE BERRY BERRY KAFOOL

You have to be a complete retard to remove any safety options to your car, you can still get a nice aftermarket look to your steering wheel while still saving the safety features. What a nice way to ____ off your insurance, not to mention its a felony to remove your airbags. RICE RICE RICE RICE. Maybe you should take out your airbag, one less dumbass rice boy retard in the world i guess, i know i dont want genes like yours floating around in this world.

It's your car, you may ruin it as you please. But what's the deal with the headrests? What advantage do you have in removing them?
