Default Airbag in steering wheel...

I was curious as to whether I can take the steering wheel apart without setting off the airbag, or perhaps there is a fuse I can pull to deactivate it? Thanks.

Yea, theres a fuse for the airbag to disable it. You never want to work around the airbag with it enabled because it would suck for you and your wallet if it goes off accidently. Better be safe then to be sorry.

EDIT - Also be sure to disconnect your battery as well, just in case.

you need to wait a while cause it also has a capicitor to hold a charge just in case of battery failure.

There are about 30 pages in the factory manual that cover working on the air bags, I highly recomend investing in these books before you work on the air bag system.

Alrighty, thx guys, just confirming what I had already thought of, I think I'm going to call the dealership to double check. Thanks, I'll post pics of what exactly I'm doing with the steering wheel once it's all finished :D
