Default To all you Northerners...Midwesterners...

and anyone else who gets snow on a regular basis...one thing I never even considered before buying my xB was how do they handle in the snow/on ice? I am here in the hills of PA a couple thousand feet up, and we get some decent storms hurtling through.

Am I doomed?

Having gone through winter in Denver I can tell you that the little box takes the snow beautifully. Granted, it's all based on the tires you have.

If you're looking at a pretty regular layer of snow I would HIGHLY recommend investing in some good, dedicated snow tires. The stock all seasons work alright, but when things get slick you'll really appreciate the extra grip.

All the electronic nannies (stability control, abs, ect.) worked their magic, and I never once ended up losing control, even during the occasional emergency moves.

One thing to be careful of, something I used to encounter in NYC a lot...Don't plan on barrelling your way through snow pack to get out of a parking space, etc. The lower body kit won't stand up to much pressure, so be certain you given yourself enough clearance before trying to drive out.

It's as good as any car I've ever driven on snow/ice.

I guess it would depend on how low u have lowed it too...if u got a low body kit and some 18's on it, u get more then a few inchs and u are just plowing the snow with your front bumper

I would assume since its front wheel drive that it should handle itself with a occasional few inchs of snow. If its more then a few inchs...u don't need to be out on the roads anyway.
