Congrats on the milestone. I can't wait to see when they start reaching 300K plus.

300K is the plan. Unless, of course, I get car fever first.

Any items of concern at 100k? Have you been following recommened maintenance or not? I'm about to hit 50k in a few days and it has been flawless so far. Very impressed with the car... especially considering the price!

I do 5,000 mile oil changes with Walmart's synthetic and one of Fram's mid- to hi-grade filters. Changed the air filter once. Haven't serviced any other part of the car.

Not sure what I'll do when the time comes to replace the xB as a daily driver. In the past I've passed the cars down to TheKids.....then on to my mechanic in trade for labor. But they were very common fords. Likely this one will just become a spare.

im going to have my heart wired to the ECU so that when it dies i die.

Ditto but I think I will die before my car does. In the 18 months i've owned it, i've managed to put like 16,600 miles on it.

Just for the hell of it, assume that i put 1k miles on it per month. at that rate, i will break the 100k mile mark in 7 years! hahahahahaa.

so i'll break 300k in about 23 years. ^_^

The miles I put on a car is a cost of doing business. That's the main reason I ended up with the xB to start with. I'd been driving Taurus/Sables for a number of years. I like/need wagons - need front drive - and good gas mileage.....that really narrows the field - though it seems to be growing.
But its not all roses. The xB is louder (road and wind noise) than I like.....and the ride is harsh (not unexpected). However - I did not anticipate the aching back I unscientifically attribute to the car.

I got my '05 in Sept '04 and I have 17,500 so far.
I think my car is planning on out-living me.

Congratulations!!! I hope you get to keep yours as long as you hope.

I had planned to keep mine for many many years and had crossed the 100K threshold but someone ran me off the road and totalled it. I guess I'll try to keep my gen 2 for many many years.

To bad Fo.....

I was hit in the driver-side rear a year and a half ago. About 4K damage. I went the "cheap" route on repairs. Its not perfect. But I suspect it wouldn't be after another couple hundred K anyway.
