Default Another kill story

K, thurs night. . . driving with 2 other cars in my ride (2005 xA 5-spd, no real mods yet).

I pull up music blasting at a stop light next to a fairly new red civic coupe, with an aftermarket exhaust (probably the only mod, couldn't tell if she was auto or manual). It's a cute chick driving with her boyfriend sitting shotgun, hehehe they give a "wtf are you driving" stare, and they rev the engine hard. I do the same, and green light! I even had a bad launch. . . I didn't bother to give it a hard launch (I forgot that I don't have a V8 anymore). We pull neck and neck. I gain, then gain some more, by 45mpy, they are at my rear bumper. 60mph, I see their brake lights, and they see my middle finger! And who said 1.5L 108hp was too slow? Hello? If I can beat a Civic (not suped up to oblivion), then again, that would mean half the cars on the planet would be too slow. I love the xA. . . this never ceases to surprise a lot of unsuspecting people.

I hate Civics. I hate the "wtf are you driving" look worse. But good job on the kill.

nice kill I have my share of civic kills here in fl. ... . .its rediculous they "hook it up" and some of them here end up slower than when they were stock because they are tryin to run 3" piping all the way back

dont forget
"Racing in a honda is like the special olympics, even if you win your still retarded"

please noone take that the wrong way and think I am insensitve to disabilies. . .

At midnight madness out here in Vegas, I love the stock honda's that go 17 and 18's, but what I like even more is the look on the owners face when they gets time card 17.89@ 73.56. Thay thought they could beat Shirley Mouldowney when thay pulled up to line.

I will go you one better, the Escalade and Navigator owner with 400 lbs of stereo equipment in a 5900 lb truck, sure they got 300+ horses but they way three tons and click off a high 18. So much for 30k being fast. Bill

I drove a rental Echo once for 3 weeks - it was a fun car, even with an auto I could chirp tires from dead stop - but in 5-speed with couple hundred in suspension and an intake it would be a good civic eater. I assume xA is pretty close. Good job, man

What's with the anti-Honda sentiment? Not to ____ anyone off, but you just stooped to their level. What makes you better. You bought a fun cheap car with a small engine and intend to mod it too. Sounds to me your in the same boat. I understand there are alot of crappy drivers/modders out there with bad attitudes and the wrong train of thought, but that's no reason to take it out on a car company. Honda makes great fun cars. Because some idiot thinks he god because he's behind the wheel is his problem. What about Toyota? They make good cars and I see alot of _______s driving them just as crazy. Do hate Toyota? No. Why do poeple have to hate so much on Honda. That's just as bad as the "wtf look" they gave you. Conpetitively speaking though, congrats on the take down.

I'm not flaming, but I can see the original point about "US vs. THEM" attitude. I checked your profile and couldn't determine if you have a Scion or not so forgive me, but once I got in the box I felt the same way. In a sea of ricers, my box is my sactuary, my slice of heaven. Out here, the "kids" (used loosely) are notoriously faster than my box. But I get more looks, more stares, and more questions than any honda/mazda/toyota/lexus/beemer/benzo/ferrari/lambo. I push a box, and am proud to claim Nor*Cal Scions - The UnAffiliated Cobras Chapter, and IMO, a kill is a kill.

Good job. Now, so far as any car out there that's willing to race me?? I'll meet you at the top of the hill, first one to the bottom in neutral wins a dollar.

It could be just me, but I always found it hard to be able to "see someones brake lights" when "they are at my rear bumper". But then again, I don't have eyes in the back of my head.

With an open stretch of road, it's real easy to keep track, just glancing in your mirrors. . . and at night brake lights are REAL easy to spot, since they light the whole car up, well practically. That's why if you see a cop and you mash the brake, it's a dead giveaway, and cops look for that too!

Personally I have nothing against Honda's. . . I had a similar post about a BMW too which went to hell but the original point is that Scion's are not slow, contrary to popular belief. Yes, compared to sports monster, it is VERY slow. But compared to average cars, my xA has performed beyond my expectations, at least I can say that about the 5-spd. I don't have a lot of experience with the autos. . .

BTW, I'm in the process of moving to Sacramento so I will not be able to respond for about 3 days.

bB Local Boy:

Actually, I just got my xB about 30 mins ago! So happy! I love it as much as the 2001 Civic I just traded in. (All stock performance, but 17" gunmetal wheels and lights). Like I said. I'm not trying to bash anyone, but just trying to help us all get along. I'll prolly wind up 'racing' this once or twice from a stop light one day too. Enjoy all!

HAHAHA he tried to do the ricer fly-by! Gotta love displacement man! I'm a huge import fan, but I have a humongous lump of respect for domestics, particular the older ones. They were the most innovative, most powerful, and best built cars of their era. And the way it looks, domestics are stepping up their competition. I look forward to some super high quality products in the near future. . . good kill man.

Default civic drivers

Even when I drove a 2000 Corvette, morons in civics tried to race me, those idiots will never learn. Don't let them get to you though, its better to just let it be than get slapped with a ticket for illegal racing.

it seems to me that a lot of civic ricer will pick up fight with any car they pass by and eventually lose most of time. anyway, my kills tory is not in xA but in tC...not even anything great to mention about, normal highway, a loud ___ civic try to do a high speed pass by, but...i am not even trying since i am still in break in period, keep my rpm under 4k, he's not able to pass me in about 5 mile then he disappear from my mirror, and i never pass the 90 mark. man, those guys never learn.

i don't think i have anything against civic, i consider to get a civic too, but the price just too high for me. and my friend have a 93 civic i like it. but i really hate the civic ricers, those who has loud exhaust, full of window stickers, ugly body kit and always tailgate any car that in front of them.
