Default Another Proud New Owner!!

Picked up my BLUE 06 Xb on Saturday with 2 miles on it...SOLID!!

Some notes:
1 - The new 9 spoke wheel covers actually look OK. I may wait a month or so before getting actual wheels.

2 - OIL - My dipstick shows about a quarter-quart above full...anyone else notice that?

I used Meguiars liquid wax and love it!

I plan on doing a full claybar and reapply wax within the next month.

BTW, I would debadge it and the rear end looks much cleaner. xBs are lucky that there is no dip in the rearend where the Scion logo is.

Yeah, the rear looks very clean with those badges removed.

OTHER PLANNED MODS
- Hit the front logo with some matte black/matte clear paint/coat until I get some new grills...still deciding on the style

-Clear the corners (using the hammer/screwdriver technique I read about on here

-Louder horn ( I saw one advertised as a "cruise ship horn"...very loud and other people would be suprised that such a beefey sound is coming from such a small box!!

My oil looked ok.... Maybe they just got a bit overzealous when loading it up.

Default ...Cabin Air Filter....

You need to install a Cabin Air Filter because Scion sold you a car with a Cabin Air Filter Tray but NO Cabin Air Filter. Buy one from the dealer for about $22. Or buy one from Advanced or AutoZone for about $12. OR make one yourself after reading the thread called 'Fabriciate your own Cabin Air Filter' in the TECH section. See the photos and read about how to pop your glove box off it's hindges to access the Cabin Air Filter Tray.
This will greatly reduce the amount of dust on your dash board.

I tried a Pep Boys, Kragen, NAPA, Advanced Autocare and none of them have the filter....damn it! I know my car is new but the Scions have been around for a few years. I dont know why they dont have 'em.

But yes, that is a must to do!

Cheers!

Nothing magical about the filter material. Just go buy a regular household furnace filter, the good quality kind with the pleats etc., and cut it down to fit the tray. For less than half of one from a dealer you'll get enough to make 3 or 4. Get the micro-filter elements and make sure you have it in with the air flow going the right way and it'll work fine. Just check the info in the tech area xBHAWH refers to and it goes into more than enough detail about this. And the best part it really works!!!!
