Any big guys drive a xB?
I'm looking for a car, but every car I like is around or above $30k. That's impractical for me right now since I already have a truck, I really just need something that gets good gas mileage, and looks cool.
I thought the xB would be a good choice, but I'm 6'4" 260lbs. Just wondering if I'll fit, and how small are they up close? I'd probably get some 19's or something so I/it wouldn't look so goofy.

Although i dont have my xB as of yet, i did fit just fine when i went for a test drive. You should go to a local dealer and try it out. I would think that the Scion line is everywhere by now. In the drivers seat, with a baseball cap on, i still had plenty of head room. I do believe that there is one other owner here that is approx. 6'3" and about 250#, he said he fits no problem.
<== 6'2" @ 245#

I'm just asking before I go because I live out in the sticks and I'd hate to make a long drive for nothin'!
Thanks for the replies so far...
The thing is I have to get a Toyota because I get friends and family discount since I know someone who works for the importer. I don't know how much it'll be on a Scion, but she did say it applies to them as well.
I don't really dig the Corolla or Matrix for economy, that's why I'm looking at the box.
I suppose I could wait for tC, but I really want something soon...

You will be surprised of the amount of interior room / we seen the XB at a local auto show and feel in live with it ... I am 6'2" / 240 lbs .... My wife is also tall 6', not sure of her weight ......
But we both sat in the front and also the back and there is more than enough room .... we also have 2 kids who have more than enough room as well .....
I took 3 older folks with me to my dealer - had them sit in the back seat and they thought it was comfortable ....
YOU WILL LOVE IT ( Make sure to wear a cowboy hat )

I am 6'1" 260. I got a lot of space. Its no caddilac but i got height to spare and i can even have a passenger behind me in the back. I wouldnt go with 5 people like me, but a few is ok.
When you see it in person for the first time you're probably be surprised at how tiny of a car it is compared to all the other big Toyota cars around it on the lot. But sitting is is a total surprise. Try it out, it's worth the drive.
you can always go to a place that does wheel chair customizations for vans and get them to put extenders on the chair rails for about $250 to give you more leg room. there is this cool guy who comes around the dealership that used to play basketball in italy, i think he is 7' tall and he is looking at an xB too. loves the room compared to his old matrix that he traded in with 700 miles.
I'm 6'5" and fit great, of course I have a frame like an 18 year old girl.
The leg position is much more upright than I am used to in my Volvo, but it's plenty comfortable. Drover from LA to Denver in two days with no complaints.

I am 6'4" and a half
and a bit heftier then most, we could say an offensive line backer size and I fit in that car great!!!! I have plenty of head room, plenty of arm room and I can sit in the back and my knees wont hit the front seat even with it all the way back!
This is all you need to know:

I'm 6'4", 260 lbs, somewhat muscular, not too pudgy except around the waist ....(sigh, love handles...)
and I fit perfectly in an Element!!! That's what you really need!!!!
hahaha, j/k
I didn't test drive an Xb, but I have sat in it and it will be just fine for you if that's your main concern. More than enough of headroom and leg room...although people will come in all shapes and sizes so this is no guarantee.

Uh, you don't need an Element. I actually really like it, went to test drive one and to my great surprise my three plus feet of legs were crammed into the dash. I had to lean to the left to get the clutch to disengage.
Amazing lack of front leg room for a vehicle its size.

I'm 6'7", 240 pounds and love my xB. It's the first car I have fit in. Leg room is not overly ample but adequate. Besides, you are sitting high (and still have lots of head room).
I have even more headroom with a Recaro seat.
