Default ANY XB OWNERS WITH LARGE BREED DOGS

I am wanting to get a new xb in the next few months(trying to payoff a credit card first) but I am also planning on getting a large breed dog in the future as well(tossup between a mastiff or a boerbol) Anyone have any experiance with a large breed in their xb?

Get the mastiff...... I have had one and a newfoundland Both great dogs. I am looking for a mastiff right now. my last was 221 lbs.. witha 31 inch neck collar.
He used to ride with me in my 1987 toyota mr2. He fit ok.
I am thinking he'll be just fine in the Xb

Well do 4 large breed dogs count?

I have a Male American Bulldog, Female Rottweiler, Female Cane Corso and Female PitBull. They are all about 100 lbs.

I fit all 4 of my dogs in the back of my xB w/ the seats down.

Check out my Dogs website www.SullyAndCorey.com

I went to HomeDepot and got an extra heavy tarp for about $7 and I think it was 5.5ft x 7.5ft. It covers the entire back of the car and I put it over the front seats. I think I might put a wooden board over the back seats when they are down b/c my dogs kept falling between the gaps.

I see some people using seat covers. Anyone have any recommendations for good seat covers and where to buy them online???

My Cane Corso is great. She was really easy to train and gets along w/ the other dogs and cat. I got her from www.dogsofwar.tv

She is actually small for her breed and the other Cane Corsos at the breeder were much larger but I had always wanted a Blue Cane Corso.

Yellow Lab.

I throw down a blanket on the folded seats. Grab his giant bed and we're off...

Plenty of headroom and space for the pooch.

I've got 2 Rotweillers (100+ each) that ride with us in the xB regularly. The only problem I've had is when braking or cornering the dogs would fall into the gaps. I would highly suggest putting some wood down (1/2" mdf) and then covering it with a large blanket or tarp. If your dogs shed, good luck getting the hairs out of the carpet/upholstery. I've detailed it twice since the dogs were in it last and I still see fur everywhere.

since this thread is geared towards dog owners... just wondering what do you use to clean up the dog saliva on the side door panels/dashboard?

i've used mild soap and water, windex, antibacterial wipes (clorox w/out bleach) and i can still see my dog's saliva stains.

any idea?

I have a Rat Terrier too, he's about 12 pounds too and he is always moving around in my box. I also have a Doberman and Rottweiler but I never let them in the car, they are always slobbering and just too messy and they will not sit still. Funny thing is, all three dogs are black and brown with the brown in similar places.

Dogs of any size will trash the interior. The door panels scratch real easy and the seats get hair imbedded in the material real easy. Unless you have a portable kennel in the back seat your xB will suffer damage.

Oh joshsbox, Rat terriers rule. Mine goes on the road with me every time. She now has 200K miles on her and counting.
