Anybody else having problems with their windshield pitting?
I ran a search on this, but didn't find anything. (Of course, I'm old and lame, so I could have missed it...)
My xB is only 4 months old, and the windshield looks about 10 years old already. It's pitted, dinged, and even has a couple of small "star" cracks all over it as if someone had peppered it about 42 times with a shotgun. I've owned a lot of cars, and have driven literally 100s of 1,000s of miles, and I've never seen a windshield this crappy. Are they making them out of cellophane or something?
Anyone else having this problem???

The problem is pretty widespread... It's a combination of cheap glass and a flat/vertical surface.
My car is 2 years old and I can hardly see out of the windshield it's so pitted. Luckily it hasn't cracked on me like many other xB owners.

it isnt just Scion's I think that have this poor glass problem. All auto glass IMO is poorer quality than is was even just a few years ago, and that was poorer than a few years before that. Seems that most windshields (new or replacement) have significant wear and pitting in not too many miles. The Xb is more prone to damage due to its shape and the large verticle windshield. Ahh wishing for good 1970's glass in a Scion Shape
[quote="TerribleTed"] and the large verticle windshield. [\quote]
I'm not picking on you Ted, I've just seen the "large windshield" comment too many times. The XB's windshield is not very large in comparison to most late model cars. It is just more vertically oriented. If you actually measure from top to bottom, I'm sure you'll find the XB's is short in comparison to most cars, vans, and trucks.

It just seems large but Chad is right. People are testing some of the aftermarket glass and some are def. better than others.
Mine is still holding on for life with 32k but does have some small amount of pitting.
