Anybody went from a tc to a xb ??????
After seeing the rs2 the other day tinted , cf hood, lowered and sitting on some black rims i was like damn thats clean.
I love my tc dont get me wrong (apart from the rattle's), but i can save alot of money on insurance and gas
Any body feel my pain ?

i'd love to have an xB and my tC...xB for driving around like normal, tC for fun on the weekends.
the xB isn't bad at all, i had a tough time deciding between the tC and xB. but i made my decision to get a tC because of how many more features you would get for your money, plus the engine had plenty more ***** to it.
xB has some cool looks to it, i'm thinking about buying one a few years from now for a cheap price, just to drive as a fuel efficent beater
sometimes i wish i had an xB, when i'm at the gas pump

I have both an Xb and a Tc so I'll give my input. They get about the same gas mileage. The xb's gas mileage is about 27 in town and MAYBE 30 on the highway if your going straight and level. If there's any hills/mountians, forget about it. My Tc gets 27 in town and 30 on the highway. Would I trade a Tc for an Xb? No. No. And No. Trade up to the Tc yes. I like both cars. Would I buy the Xb over again, yes. The car cannot be beat for under 13,500 (what I paid out the door). Just my .20. YMMV

Several of us have/had the same dilemma.

I went for an xB and would've never given the tC a second look if I wasn't being completely ignored at the dealer and had about 30 minutes by myself to look at all the unlocked Scions. I guess I talked myself into the tC because it's a much better value, i thought I needed the power, and it has better fit and finish. I agonized between the 2 for months. I had my tC for about 7 months and saw an RS3 on the lot and had to have it.
I got an OK trade for the tC. So far (almost 3 weeks), I'm happy I did it.
Yeah the xB is underpowered but so was my car before the tC so it wasn't too bad for me. It just has to be your kind of car. It's tough downgrading that severly though.
There are some good threads here with well documented xB mileage you should check out if that really is a factor.
BTW, all the money I saved switching to the xB was immediately dumped into accessories and that RS3 pkg was spendy so I'm breaking even each month!

I'm coming from an xB to a tC. xB rattles too! I haven't noticed having to stop for gas THAT much more. Not really enough to say i'd commite to an xB for that reason alone. xB--> 30mpg highway, tC--> 29mpg highway. I have State Farm for automobile insurance. The xB with my plan (Full coverage with some extra goodies) was rated as an 11, which for me was only $750ish every 6 months, and the tC is rated as a 15, which is now like $830ish every 6 months. Hmmm, so you save $150ish a year in insurance and not really THAT much more in gas, so in the end you'll be getting a slower car that for ME, didn't help with my back problems (ex. sitting angle, posture, that the xB offers).
Switched to the tC because i wanted a little more power, i absolutely missed having a coupe, looooove being able to drive while leaning back comfortably, and so on.
My .02 cents. Glad if i could help in your decision.

i dont think i'd go back for my tC. Driving the xB is just a totally different ballgame. you cant really compare them. When idrive the xB, i cruise...nothign fancy...just chill out and drive
After driving an xB for awhile, test driving a tC was somewhat underwhelming. It feels strange for a heavier car to have so much less space, and it kinda felt like a 3/4 scale Camaro to me... just my 2 cents.

It's so easy even a caveman can do it!
I don't think it is a downgrade......the tc in the stock form is nice looking however it is slow for a aporty car when stock,,,they really need time at ZPI...for every day prcticality you can't beat the box for the money..and it is more unique
first off for the features the TC offers over the Box are not that much and I don't think worth the extra 7 or 8 grand. Second if you bought the car for power the car has no ***** neither does the box, but they both can be fun to drive. The Xb gas milage compared to TC is way off because I get about 33 around town driving like an ___, on the freeway going 80 I get about 36mpg and driving 70 - 75 I get close to 40mpg oh and my box has lots of modds. Most of you are getting ____ty milage because of the heavy rims that are being put on. but never the less. I love my box it has its little thing like no Cruise control, and not much power from the engine but nothing is going to be fast to me from what I used to drive on the streets. plus on the fun to drive the TC note the car is to heavy and the power to wieght ratio sucks, a Honda with 140hp will eat the car alive, the new civic will make it a bed time snack, along with some other cars all stock. Honestly though it depends on the person but the TC is not special to me or worth the extra money, if I wanted a sports coupe I would have bought a Audi A4 or Something along those lines. (STI, EVO, Built another Civic, RSX)
I've had my box for about a month now. I don't think I downgraded at all. My mileage is above 30. I paid less and got a good trade-in value for the tc, but most of that money is going towards mods. If you have that feeling like you should of got the xb like I did. You wont regret it. I regret buying the tc and not going with the xb the first time. Theres nothing like it on the road and modding it is so much more fun. The tc looks like to many other cars on the road. Don't get me wrong though. The tc is a nice car for the money, but if your having second thoughts your not going to enjoy it. Go with your gut feeling and think inside the box!
