think that 5th gear in a five speed is almost pointless like 300 rpm difference from 4th gear whats up with that?

 

ummm not really...the 5th gear in cruising speed will help with gas mileage long term...to a normal driving you would think its pointless but it helps alot in the long run with gas mileage

 

yeah and even though its 300 RPM.... it saves u gas money in the long run. Also if u didnt have it you couldnt go over 90MPH

 

Sad part is, at 80 mph the 5 speed is 500 rpms higher than the auto. Now what's up with that?

I noticed that when we picked up the lava. I was ____ed cause the biggest reason I got the 5spd is cause I'm used to them turning low rpms and the auto's screaming, but it's the other way around in the box. I don't get it... but then I don't build cars I guess.
