So what is the load rating for an xB roof?

www.autohomeus.com

That looks cool but it costs 1800 bucks that he doesn't have.

We've slept in the box a couple times camping out for concert tickets (Panic! At The Disco and Coachella come to mind). and what not... by choice... pretty comfy.

Wow. Sorry about that whole situation, can't believe what that must feel like, but like some of the other guys have said, if you have any extra cash try to bump the alimony, especially since your looking at living out of your car.

Ha, I'm sixteen, just had my first breakup...nice to think that this sort of situation is out there. Good luck!

yeah when my old ladie gave me the boot i was so shocked and surprised i walked out in my gym clothes with a toothbrush in one hand and my razor in the other.... i would venture to guess that the xB is a ____ lot more comfortable to sleep in than my tC.

lol - i wanna take a trip to atlantic city with my girl and stay the weekend but the hotels are like north of $400 a night (for a good one)... so i told my girl we can just NAP or sleep in the xB but for some reason, she is really really hating that idea.... i told her fine - if you have $800+ to get a room for 2 nights - MIND YOU IT'S A ROOM THAT WE WOULD ONLY PUT OUR CLOTHES IN AND SHOWER IN AND THAT'S IT - then you can pay for it....

I don't travel due to taht single reason - I will not shell out hundreds of dollars on a hotel room KNOWING THAT I AM NOT GOING TO SPEND ANYTIME IN THERE! THe idea to travel is to get out... I won't have any spending money left if i blow a ____ing grand on a hotel room!@#

anyway, i dont care. i'll go there myself and sleep in the box w/o an issue!

I lived in a VW van for 2 years. But that was a "lifetime" ago!

Good luck. I was there 7 years ago. A Datsun 200SX with 310,000 miles and a suitcase of clothes.

Keep cool. SET THE EXAMPLE FOR YOUR KID!! And it will all work out.

It's second job time.

Ha...I love to travel but I agree. I stay at the cheapest place possible, I do not care about ammenities. The first time I went to Vegas, we shelled out for a nice room and I do not even remember what it lookied like. Basically slept and showered there, that was it. When we went to see Phish, we stayed off the strip for less than $50 a night.
**************************

Sorry that you got kicked out...

I have slept in my box when doing roadtrips. When the front seat is folded down flat it is quite comfortable, especially compared to my other vehicles. Many years ago I had a falling out with my roomie and ended up living in my Merkur XR4TI for 2 months in the middle of winter. With the back seats folded down, the hatch area was okay enough to sleep in with 20 blankets or so. I think you will be okay in your box. If the front seat is too narrow, try folding the back seat down and sleeping diagonally.

I understand all the complaining about alimony from the rest of you guys, but I think there are cases when it is warrented, even if it does suck. Let's say a woman gives up her career or schooling in order to keep house and raise the children. If she got divorced and tried to go out into the work force, she would probably have a real hard time finding a decent paying job. I think the fact that women give up so much to raise families is often overlooked, which is too bad. Sorry to be preachy, but I think there are circumstances where alimony is completely deserved. If the situations were reversed and it was the man keeping house, then he should receive alimony too. That is my two cents

(oh, and for the record: I do not want childen and am not sure if I will ever be married. My opinion is not based on personal experience or anything like that)

You can't afford a motorcycle camper? I am sure you can get one cheap on somewhere and if something can be pulled with a motorcycle it probably can be pulled by a scion

#1. sell your scion xb
#2. hire somebody to kill your wife for that same amount of money
#3. save the alimony money and buy another XB

Good luck , i just broke up with my X and let me tell you if she did that **** to me i probably would have nearly beat her to death

hmm.. i'm concerned about the bathroom requirements...once you've filled the glovebox and cupholders with poop, how do you clean it out? or do you just hang your butt out the window each time?

Thank-you for all your support. The stigma of homelessness is hard enough but having you guys keeps me going. I try to keep my self clean and stink free by going to the beach and showering. I still work because I cannot fall behind on the alimony or they will take away my drivers licence. I still see my son all the time.

I would never kill my X but would it be wrong if I beat up the man living in the house I built why i live on the beach? He drives a big SUV with 22's or whatever. It annoys me that ontop of me being homeless he is wasting our resources by driving that stupid SUV.

BTW I like to go to the nice hotel bathrooms to use the bathroom. It sort of bothers the guest when I take a dump in their toilets but I got now where else to go.

You should steel the SUV then weld the cars together and you can have like a super xB.... You can call it the Super XuB, then take it to toyota and they will love the idea... then they'll buy the plans off you and you will be rich beyond your wildest dreams. that'll show them... i even have a good catch fraise insted of "SCION WHAT DRIVES YOU?" make this one "XuB IT DRIVES YOU!"... Dude if you do this I want 15% of the cut... I can see it now...
