Default Argh!!!!!!

No I'm not trying to be a pirate

on my way to work I noticed my whole rear window is shattered and the earlist i can get it serviced is monday

There was a huge Dust storm that came through yesterday and shattered my rear window when some sort of debris pierced a nice little hole in the glass....

I guess it's time a good time to replace my windshield while I'm at it.

My only concern is my insurance company does not know what my deductable will be for the glass, but told me it's usually covered.

anyone else have some wierd glass damage and also what did you pay for your deductable

I have Travelers, and the glass deductible is $250. I don't know if that's per 'pane' or for each claim.

Here in Michigan every time you make a claim it is a "strike" against you and has a negative effect on your renewal rates.

That being said it cost me a tick $225 cash (no insurance) to replace the windshield in my 96 Chrysler LHS and they came to my house to install it.

By comparison it will cost me $300.00 cash to have the BACK glass replaced with USED glass in my daughters 93 Chevy Beretta and I need to bring it to them.

Call around and see if you cant just avoid the deductible and save some money in the process.

Bummer. Depending on your location, there are glass replacement places that pay the deductible. I'm unsure if there is a catch, gimmick.

How did you get in and close the door without it blowing out the rest of the window? The pressure build up in mine is crazy. You usually have to slam the door to get it to close all the way.

Damm -- That suck's -- But I have to agree with others that it look's like vandalism.
Something that the wind would have blown into would have either been still stuck in
the glass or laying around behind your xb.
Hope you get it fixed soon.

Don't you guys have a couple of crackpots overthere shooting at people?? Are you sure someone didn't take a shot at you??

And how could your insurance company not know the deductable on your policy--they wrote it didn't they? Good luck with the glass!!

well the wind gusted where over 30-40 mph and from what i have been told it's a pretty common occurance. i did not find any bb's or bullets in the car so i doubt it was that.

yeah we also do have a couple dumb ***** roaming around killing people.

when closing the door i made sure i left the windows slightly cracked with out slamming it in to avoid any blow outs

I just dropped the car off at the auto glass shop.
