Default Auto window switch swap?

Just wondering if anyone has switched out the front passenger switch (on the driver side) with an auto switch similar to the driver's side? I was thinking about it, and would like to just push down the two of them at once, and they both went down and stopped automatically... I know I'm lazy, but man, it would be nice to just do that. I love how the wind comes in with just the front two down. It doesn't seem like it would be that hard, but would it work? I did a search, and all I found was one that was answered with automatic ones, like from a key fob.. don't want that, just a switch on the door... Thanks in advance...

I know Dave has been looking into this for some time. He was looking into replacing the cluster from another Toyota based car. I think he finally gave up. LOL

are the four buttons for the window all one piece or are they 4 pieces? i was thinking that if they were individual pieces, you could just swap out the regular ones for the auto down ones, or even better the auto up/down ones from a toyota.

Yeah, I am not sure... I am guessing that you will need a module to take care of this, right? I know that you can buy full blown kits, but I just would want to have that one. I just am not that sure if it is a module, or a switch replacement or what? It shouldn't be that difficult, I would think.... Thanks for the intrest so far....

I've been looking at this for a while. I believe if someone is able to find one from a lexus and do a little "creative carving/wiring" one might be able to do this. According to most of the diagrams I have seen the window stop controls are done inside of the master switch. Although it would take some time. Most of the newer cars are using modules in place of the standard "relay" style auto switches. I would like to do this but like the flip key idea I wanted to do I just got lazy and plum forgot until I saw this post.

I have been told that you just need the switch, pop out the old and the one with the auto-down will fit right in it's place. I never saw it in action and the guy who told me totalled his box and hasn't been heard from since. I am working on a mod for controlling all 4 windows with the one switch (requires relays and an additional switch).

Thanks for the replies guys! I may just try to swap the two.. it would be an easy test... Also, I have seen that Crime Stopper makes a module that can make one be auto up and down, or two windows be auto up or auto down. DEI makes a module to work on all our windows... Crimestopper is about $25, and DEI is about $70... It feels like it is just the switch, ya' know? If that's the case, I would rather do that, than cut into the window motor wiring.... Once again.. thanks!

Just looked at a Lexus gs300. It has all auto up and down for all windows from the driverside. Modifications will need to be made just to make it fit. Looking at some of the wiring diagrams thought I think this car has a door control module. scratch a 2003 lexus anything off the list of possible donars. I just checked some info, all the doors have a module on them. Apparently you can roll the windows down with the wireless transmitter like a BMW. lol I thought I might be able to do something. Back to the donar search.

Wow, didn't know this many people would be that interested... Well, I have lot of irons in the oven sort a speak... I did take out the window controls, and took them apart all the way down to circuit board, and I don't believe that it would be a simple switch swap... The relays for the Passenger (Front, and rears) are a different length then the one for the driver... soldering and some guessing would have to be involved seeing how there are like 5 contact points on the driver and only 3 or 4 on the others... I may have to go with one of the modules that I have already spoken about. Like I said though, too many irons.. My ED underseat sub should be coming in next week, and my wife and I are going on and 5 year anniversary get away ... It doesn't seem like it would be that hard to put in a module, just gotta make sure that you are cutting into the right wires... Anyway, I will let you guys know sometime in the future what I find out... Thanks for all the looks...
