Auto xBs....what's your mileage.
Hey......guys/gals with automatic xBs out there...........what is your gas mileage.
And I don't mean what do you THINK you're getting. I need numbers from people that reset their trip meter at the pump, use the number of gallons they fill the next time they hit the pump, and actually do the math. No estimates please.
So, if you've got the numbers on your auto xb, please post them........also, your driving style/conditions (rev high a lot, keep it under 3.5k rpm, mostly highway, mostly city, etc).
Any help here will be appreciated. Thanks.

Here are the numbers I've got:
The worst MPG I got was 28 MPG (90% city w/o A/C).
The best MPG I got was 35 MPG (90% freeway with A/C).
Regularly, I get between 29 and 32 MPG (city/freeway/A/C mix).
I notice a difference when I load up on cargo and/or people.
I am completly stock. I usually drive alone.
I drive nice and easy 75% of the time (rev up to 3500k rpm).
I usually fill up after 280-300 miles, just before the light goes on.
If I fill up as soon as the light goes on, I always fill up about 9.5 gallons.
So far I've driven 10,750 miles.
Hope that helps....

Hmm......thanks for the numbers guys. Stan.......you made me feel really bad.
Profecy......you made me feel a bit better.
Last time I checked my MPG under MY normal driving conditions (Las Vegas traffic, with my typical lead foot) my MPG was at 19.6. I couldn't believe how low that was.........so I decided to go a whole tank without revving higher than 3.5k rpm. That was a painful endeavor for me, as I get antsy when my car is accelerating that slowly............but regardless, I did it anyway. After that little experiment, my gas mileage went up to 23.2. Still not great, but an improvement. The only thing is.......I can't see myself driving like that all the time.
Right now, I'm in the process of seeing if I get any gas mileage gains out of my axle back straigh pipe system. I should have some info on that soon.
Anyway guys........if you've got the numbers, keep um coming.

I think 2 quick and easy ways to improve gas mileage are reducing weight and keeping an eye on tire pressure.
Do you have a lot stuff in your car? I notice when lugging around a bike, a girl, books, laundry, etc, my MPG suffers. I try to keep the car empty most of the time. I don't have extra speakers either. Also, heavy rims mighth have an affect, but I have no experience with that - yet
As for tire pressure, I keep my stockers at 30 psi. I check them often. I'm not sure how cold it has been in Vegas this winter, but I think cold weather can bring down the psi. Something like 1 psi per 10 degrees colder.
An empty car might give 1 or 2 extra MPG. Keeping the tire pressure steady should give an extra 1 or 2 mpg. That's 2 to 4 extra MPG! :D

Kil, Iam getting around 26-to 28 in town, my worst was 21.2 going to LA up baker grade, my best was on the same trip running around LA 34. My last trip to LA this past weekend I got 31.9 average on four fillups, between, 4.5 gallons to 8.75 gallons. Bill

I don't think I've gotten 30 mpg yet. I've got a 32 mile commute to and from work and about 85% of it's hwy driving. I seem to be consistanly hovering around 28 mpg.
So far I've clocked around 1500 miles on my xb.
Anybody know how many miles til the engine is considered to be "broken in"?

Having around 1500miles I went to Pittsburg. I filled up on empty tank and got there and back with a VERY small amount of gas left when I got home. From my house to Pittsburg is 187miles so you do the math. 187 times 2 equals my best gas mileage. And I drive like an ___ most of the time which means lead foot...everything was stock when I made the trip & used 89 octane.

I've got an auto and I was consistently getting 27 MPG.
Lead foot, 75%freeway, Bay Area Freeway, so it's a mixed bag...
This last tank, I got 28.5 MPG, the only change being my Goldline Springs. Could they make a difference? Less airflow under the car? We'll see.
To be truly accurate, you should really keep a log and average things out over several tanks of gas...

It actually looks like I'll be getting an improvement from my straight pipe exhaust that I just built. That's only from looking at the guage and the trip meter. At my next stop at the pump.......I'll let everyone know if there's been an improvement.

i've been averaging just over 32mpg...
have around 5.5k miles... 50 mile daily commute 90% freeway with virtually no traffic both ways (almost perfect commute)... typically drive around 70mph...
my first few tanks i was really babying the box and was getting some insane averages (33-35mpg)... but my right foot has gotten a lot heavier since then...

25.84 mpg - AEM intake - about 50/50 city/hwy - I drove it like a car. Onto the fwy reving above 4K? Oh ya...5K? sometimes...wait, that guy just made me mad...redline
I tried the under 3K rpm thing for a while, but then my foot's affection for aluminum pedels could not be dinied.
