Specs from http://www.jzxproject.com/toyota_engines.html

1AZ-FSE DOHC VVT-i 2.0L
hp 150@6000
torque 148@4400

Apparently its a RAV4 engine. All the sites I found with info on it are foreign though. I don't know if the USDM RAV4 ever used this engine or not. I know the current model doesn't. It has a 2.4L with 161 hp.

It also lists the 1ZZ-FE as an option on the "X NEO Edition." That is the 140 hp 1.8L engine from the Celica GT and Matrix XR. It also comes in the CE, LE and S Corollas but with 130 hp.

The 2nd gen RAV4 started out with the 1AZ but they changed it to the 2AZ in I'm going to say 2004.

Oh yeah, lucky Japanese get the choice of an even wimpier 1.3L engine. I'm so jealous.

Does the 1.3L 2NZ-FE Share the same bore just a different strock then the 1NZ-FE? or is it shares the same strock just different bore? I was asking because if it does in fact use a shorter strock & smaller bore that would be sweet. Take that little engine & bore it out to use the 1NZ-FE pistons. That way you have a big bore + short strock which would be great for a little high rev engine. Strap a turbo onto it then & you could get more HP then the 1NZ-FE for about the same price, maybe. The only draw back is you would not have as much torque & it would be like a B series honda engine where all the power is at like 7000rpm+.

they don't have the motorized fold-in mirrors - and for those who can afford them - that's damn near the #1 thing people want.

Do they fold in? I though they were supposed to angle down when you reverse?

The RS2 mirrors are just supposed to angle downwards (the glass part of course) just like a lot of higher end cars do. The whole mirror housing doesn't actually fold closed and open. Personally I don't care for the glass portion angling downward when the car goes into reverse - I get at least one or two of those cars a week and everytime I have to back one out of the shop . They're "cool" but a pain in the ___ when you're just backing out of an area with tight clearances (like a narrow alley). They would work well for those folks who can't parallel park worth a sh*t (so they can see the curb) but that's about it.

The JDM motoroized mirrors fold completely closed with a switch on the dash, the USDM switch for the mirror adjustment looks the same except that in the upper left hand corner on the JDM peice there is an button with an image of a rearview mirror - push that button and mirror either folds in or back out - but the glass doesn't angle up and down automatically.

There are no known US importers of this part. Every once in a while you'll see a used set pop up somewhere (liek eBay) but it's pretty rare.

While on my recent trip to Japan, I went to Netz Toyota to buy the motorized mirrors. The mirrors alone cost about $700.00 and the parts guy told me that our xB's are not wired for the mirrors. So, I opt to buy other mods for my xB.

See my profile.

they can be installed, but you have install the whole system, not just the mirrors.

You'll need the mirrors, harness, dash switch and the system relay.

You could rig it up yourself for less than that, quit your complaining and go set it up.

As for all the chrome pieces, it'd probably be cheaper to chrome plate the USDM stock parts than to order new ones from japan anyway.

Y'all need to quit complaining and start tinkering.

Does anybody know if anyone in the US is selling or can get a hold of the color changable speedo kit in this link? http://www.toyota.co.jp/dop-bB/illumination.html I would love to have one of these. Wonder if it replaces just the backlighting, or the dial as well.

I don't think I've seen anyone COMPLAIN in this thread yet.

---and I get paid to fabricate. I "tinker" enough.
