Default Better to wax before/after applying decal?

Hi all,
Just a quick question...If you are planning on adding a decal and also waxing your car, which should come first?

Thanks!

When applying sheet vinyl like 3M film or graphics for permanence, the instructions say to clean off wax using a 70% alcohol solution (which is how it comes in the drugstore bottles). I don't know what happens if you don't clean off the wax. Maybe the decal will remove easier, hopefully not before you want it to come off.

If you don't remove any dirt/waxes before you apply the decal, the adhesive won't adhere properly, causing it to peel off easily.

yup, you want the surface as clean as possible to promote adhesion...

and watch out for waxing decals. Most will not have a problem but some might discolor..

That's what I thought, but I just wasn't sure if it would make the wax job look enough. Thanks guys!

Professional grease and wax remover pre paint solvent is the best to use. PPG Brand product DX 440 is particularly good. Check out your nearby Auto Body Supply. You might have to but a gallon but it is not very expensive and can be used for any grease, glue, gum etc removal as well as for removing porr quality paints (spray paint over spray etc). It will generally not effect surface properly painted with automotvie paints (if there is any question check on a spot that can not be seen to ensure it does not effect the paint).
