Default That big a difference?

Just cruising through ScionLife and checking out the other lounges. Saw a thread about a guy that committed a hit and run with his tC. Wow. there are some extremely different types of people over there from us here. Foul language, put-downs, insurance fraud....I've even noticed nastiness in xB 2nd-gen Lounge. Makes my head spin. I'm glad we can have a good time in xB 1st-gen Lounge... Are the owners personalities of each type of vehicle that different? I know some of you guys have xB's and tC's...Has anyone else noticed this?

Yea, i was reading that article too, its weird how people seem that we should show them a lot of compassion while they are trying to commit fraud who would personally tell someone to go do that. I am extremely happy that at least our forum hasn't had any crap that i can remember on it

plus i have a good friend who has a tC and doesn't drive like a jerk so its not all of them :D

You must have not look closely at the 1st gen forums. All this place is, is haterville, all people do on this site is hate on other people and it really dumb. Yea its alright for some criticism when people what to know what you think but most people on here attack that person because they dont like what they have done.

First, our xB don't go fast enough! All kidding aside, no wonder rates are high for younger drivers...in sporty type cars.

Seriously, the reply this poster made is beyond wise...we need more people like her!

i'm not calling you stuid, but just think about it was it really a good idea to post this. not to mention if you posted this and by a stroke of luck the same cop that took down your info, or an insurance agent read this and had your IP address traced back to you. yeah it would take time, but when it hit you....oh how s#!t rolls down hill.

I think That the personalities of the drivers are not based solely on what they drive but rather how they drive it I have seen idiots in all the forums and just dont get it. The idea is that each Scion is a clean slate to makeyour own individual statement. I have friends that drive each and they all have the same open mind about the fact they drive a scion as a choice not just as another car.

Good point Gman. Everyone is different in the way we act, drive, and trick out our Scions. I just hadn't noticed such behavior in the 1st-Gen forum. Heck, I like all the Scion models am not shy about complementing a tC, xA or xD owner on their ride. I saw as recently as yesterday a nice little tC with a kid tailgating me, changing lanes and cutting people off only to end up next to me at every light.

i think us 1st-gen xB owners are the most mature (character-wise ... and maybe even age-wise) of all the scion species out there.

I would hang out with xA people. xD people are universally insane, it seems. xB2 people are fine as long as you don't mind talking about their 401k's and How Things Were Back In The Day. As for the tC...

If you go to www.wreckedscions.com, the damage gradients are hilarious. There's a whole pile of xB's with rear, side, and minor front-end damage. Yes, there's some destroyed boxes, but it's mostly what would happen if you backed into a mailbox.

Then there's about 500 tC's missing entire quadrants of the vehicle, as if someone ran them into the back of a dumptruck or a lightpole at 130 MPH. The things those people have managed to do to their car truly staggers me.

So yes. Yes, there's a difference.

I don't generally look at the other forums but I had to pop over to the tC forum to see the post you were talking about. That's some bad judgment and bad advice, but it happens in every forum. Maybe it does have something to do with the demographics of the xA and xB vs. tC owners. There's probably a younger crowd buying two door cars than buying four door cars in general.

I've been really impressed with the people on this site (OK, 99% of you anyway!) since day one. I don't really frequent the other forums here, but having spent a considerable amount of time on other sites for various other cars and interests, I can tell you this is probably the most considerate and supportive (in regard to other peoples' rides) bunch of folks I've run into!

i used to drive a tc. everyday someone would try to race me, from frickin kia'a to comaro's, mustangs, grand prix's ect. i never would partake in this, mainly because im a responsible driver who values my life, and second becuase its not like a almost stock tc is that fast anyways. i guess im saying this in response to zomgxb's response, im sure there are alot of kids who drive tc's who get caught up in street racing and doing stupid ****. thats why there is always a new thread about someones pics of their rolled tc (no one ever tries racing me in my box, yes)
anyways, back on topic, i used to frequent the tc forums alot and yes there was a lot of stupid advice and bashing going on, i do see some of the same stuff goin on in the gen 1 xb forums but not no where near as much. i agree that the xb owners are more friendly and helpfull
I saw as recently as yesterday a nice little tC with a kid tailgating me, changing lanes and cutting people off only to end up next to me at every light
this happens to me all the time(not neccesarlly tc's)

Agreed, after awile you start to learn who to talk to and who to avoid. It's safer here in our lounge tho cause we are truely the #1 Scion owners!

Three of the most ticketed cars are Scions. tCs get tickets at a rate 460% of the average, per 100,000 miles driven. xBs get 403% of average, and xAs get 275% of average. I'm afraid xB drivers aren't very different from tC drivers at all. Now I know why so many of you get lousy mpg. xB drivers are leadfoots.

Glock32, You are correct, I believe! There are people on every forum, that are a bit "negative"! 1st Gen xB has its share! But generally, a more mild group, I believe!

I break xB (Not xB2) owners into 2 groups. The true enthusiasts are the ones that bought them new when they first came out. Now you are getting people that picked them up used for cheap that are not into them as much as we were. There are still some nice people that simply couldn't afford them when they were new. I feel xB owners in general are a different breed from the general motoring public tho.
