Default Blue LED Pillar Sconce mod

Did a little light project over the weekend.

First i bought these, they come resistored so it makes my life much easier

Then i took apart a pair of these that i took off from my previous ride that was lying ard in the house. The LED inside (those really small square led) was fried and it was too trouble to replace them. Glad i didnt threw them away.

Did a simple bracket and drill a hole to fit the LED in

Used 3M (my fav brand!) heavy duty double sided tape and pasted it to the sconce

Heres another look from the top inside

After the all wiring and installing the switch of the sconces, heres how its looks in the day

Lights On in the day

And.... heres how they look in the night....

The lights are actually not as white was seen in this pict, its actually in a very soft glowing blue.

Comments pls.

Cool ! Mine were spolit and i also didnt really like the blue coming out of it, almost too white, so i decided to change the bulb to blue LED to make it match the blue interior lighting of my current bB... plus the whole mod only cost.. S$ 8 for 3 pcs of blue LEDs, and S$2.50 for a led lighted toggle switch. ..total cost.. priceless.. :D

Now with fours of my under seats sound active blue cold cathodes blinking to the beat of the music and the 2 blue sconces in the car.. its almost feels like a lounge inside the bB at night..

Up coming Projects :

1) Mini LED light bar for the boot area
2) LED for all the interior door atches like what Mark2K did..
3) Upholstery for the dashboard
4) UV cold cathodes or black light on the dashboard

That should keep me busy for a while..

WOAH !! Original bB lightings !! Post picts once you get them plzzzzzz... i bet those must have cost you a bomb shipping them all the way from Japan ! Wat brand are they ?

Thanks for your kind comments. :D I always believe if you want it to be in a way you like it, you got to DIY yourself.

I will post pics no doubt, as for cost of shipping, not much, I have a friend there that send s me things all the time, small items he usually does free shipping, this was a small item, so HEHE, they are made by a company called FOREST, a bid VIP lighting comp in Japan.......as for diy thing, no good at it at all.....maybe one day.......props to peeps that do it though.......

U guys ever see those sconces they have in nightclubs with the flame made of orange and black foil paper that has a lite behind it and is moved by a fan??? Those would be bad as hell to have on your pillars!
