Ok I know its been done and thank you all who posted previous solutions. I made the materials as simple as the other posts I have read.

Filter Location: Open glove box and Squezze / Nurse the Nubs out of the way and remove Glove box.


Filter has a Zero on it on my car, pull tabs right and left to remove.


Filter Tray removed:


Parts: $9.99 Ordor filter and $1.99 1 sided sticky weather striping, can make many more. Oh and pair of scissors!


Cut to size:


Add Foam Seal:


Insert Plastic Grill:


Finshed Part:


Insert your new Air Filter and replace glove box.


15 minute job

TEASER, It looks like you keep a pair of "stick_1NZ's" glasses in your glove box!

 

Yes it is Stick, I had read the post over many times. Went looking for simular materials and did my own thing, just having fun. I do write Technical documents here and there amoungst many other things I do.

Funny that is the same filter I used.I got mine at Lowes.Nice write up.I looked in the manual and it mentions the "other" filter.Anybody ever clean it?

nice you can also place air fresheners in your filter so that it will prevent your car from getting that nacho smell

 

yes, pre-made filters for the Scions can be bought at the dealer or ordered from many autoparts stores - it's just that they charge waaaay too much...
