Cheap quality Scion accessories to avoid...
1. Cargo Cover is junk...I had them take it back and they gave me the cargo net (which doesn't even attach at the bottom). The cargo cover is the cheapest of its type as I've EVER seen....I'd be embarrassed if anybody saw it.
2. Rear Bumper Applique is junk...I had them take it off and credit me for it. The thing is paper thin and won't protect anything...I was expecting a nice plastic protective strip.
3. Cruise Control works ok, but the stalk is placed in a terrible place and will eventually get knocked off by my knee which is 1" away from it and I'm only 6ft.
FEEL FREE TO ADD TO THE LIST!

I got the base model (no options but the RS 2.0 package).
I agree with 2 and 3. The rear bumper applique is overpriced, but some people like it to protect the top of the bumper. The cruise control should have been standard on these cars. Adding it like they do functions and looks like crap.
The cargo cover, although cheaply made (expensive from the dealer) serves its purpose for me. It hides all my custom stereo stuff in the back when the car is parked. I don't leave it on all the time, but when it's on it does the job.
Overall your better off getting a base model and adding the stuff yourself. These cars are the easiest I've ever worked on as far as adding extra equipment. The boards are full of knowledge for the novice.

All the Scion items are useless. The aftermarket has that all covered.
I'd just take the hood bra/cover. it looks sweet and only cost about 50 bucks.

Agreed drizzle.
Are you talking about the cover for the back area? Not the little flappy thing, right?
The Rear Applique is perfect for protecting from scratches. lets face it, you have to put stuff on that ledge to fill your trunk. can you put the chain ring from your bike on it? No, but groceries or boxes are cool.
And I have no idea what you're talking about the Cruise. Are you in a tC? Auto right? Put your foot down where its supposed to be. That'll fix your knee problem.

The applique is ok, I knew I'd drop something on it if I didn't get it, the cargo cover I question, I expected a pressboard one of some kind like on my PT or Geo, figured I'd do an aftermarket cruise, but hesitant to use 1 on 4 cylinder motor as it overcompensates for any grade in a road and hits passing gear usually. With a Cadi, you don't even know its there with the v 8.
The only things I added to my car (which came in today but i'll be getting on monday) is the foglights, which the port installed(I know I could have gotten the part cheaper and installed it myself, but wasn't in the mood to deal with it), and the floormats. I shopped a few places and came to realize that after all is said and done, I would only be saving $20 or so for the mats if I got it elsewhere, so screw it, let them put it in. The rear cargo cover is a consideration, because I don't want people seeing what's in my trunk, but I'll deal with that later. As for bumper protection, I'll be getting the 3M Clear Bumper installed after I get the car. I've had it on the last 4 cars I've owned and love it! I'll probably have them go up on top of the bumper where the applique would be to cover that part if I'll be using the bumper as leverage to put big/heavy stuff in the trunk.

I was just about to post about your little accident and the fact that the applique helped somewhat...........

Cargo Liner is about the only useful thing for me from the factory, bought somewhere else for 50% of dealer price of course
Definitely the shift ****. It doesn't even reach the boot. It's just a generic cheapie junk ebay shift ****. And the base is too narrow to cover the boot chrome trim completely.
For the other cars I have owned- factory accessories generally mean high quality, OEM fit and finish products. But the Scion division is apparently run by rejects from APC
Basically ALL the parts made for the USDM car only are ALL JUNK. Even the trunk mat fits like sh*t.
