Default Check engine light flashes

Ok so went for a drive up in the mountains here in Colorado yesterday. At one point the box kinda stumbled when I got on it going up a hill. And since I have noticed that my check engine light flashes six times when I start the box. It never did before. I did a quick search on here and found nothing right away. Anyone else have this or have a answer to what it is? I am not wanting to go to the stealership right away as of yet. Especially if I just need to reset the ecu. But I figure with such a large community someone I am sure has run across this problem before. Thanks

it is the oil change reminder...all you have to do is:
1. Turn on the ignition and make sure it is on your odometer display, not the trip display.
2. Turn off your ignition. Hold down the trip meter reset button and turn the ignition on. Keep the button pushed in.
3. The maintenance required light will flash for a few seconds. when it turns off, let go of the reset button.

also you can set how many thousands of miles you would like it to come on...you will see 5 bars flash and go out one by one... if you want it to be every 3000 miles you just wait til you have 2 bars remaining and let go of the reset ****

it scared me when i first saw it but thats what it most likely is.

Yep, Dain speaks the truth. It's also covered in your owners manual.

I hate when IDIOTS loose or take the owners manuals. It's like what good is it to them when they off the car. Is it a trophy or momento?
Whenever I go to buy a used car. If the manual isn't there I make them deduct enough to buy a new one. Most the time it is there tho.
