Default Chopped

Saw this box at a local all Toyota show this past weekend, thought I would share with the masses, the rear hatch was not chopped, glass was too spendy, enjoy.

the wheels i coudl live with...but why spend an ___-load of money getting a chop and then not find a replacement rear glass to fab in? there has to be something that could have been used...seems like a lot of work to just get lazy on the hatch imo

the car is hideous the chop is nice.

funny thing is the windsheild is MUCH more to get custom made than the rear would be....... and even chop would look better than a raked one. or maybe like one or two inch rake...

Actually on the front widshield you could get away with sinking it like they do on some old school hot rods to avoid having to cut the glass. The rear would be more expensive.

But, if you can't do it right, don't do it at all. The raked top just doesn't look right in my opinion, makes it look like it has big as$.

And yes, the wheels are hideous.

But, you have to give it tp to them. I haven't seen anyone else do it.

I think the chopp looks cool, even tho they didnt change the back glass.

It kind of slopes up toward the back. Looks cool in my opinion.

Wheels = hideous
Paint= ugly
chop= cool

if we can get past a look that is as jethro put it, "sofa king we todd did", we can get past anything (except chrome "battle" wheels).

i dont understand... its only chopped 2 inches or so.. theres so much head room why not go for 7 or 8inches? you can go real extreme and lower the seats a bit... i always thought a low roof line would be bad ___, kinda magnum-ish with the agressive box feel... think the hatch still opens?

My feelings are leave the roof alone. It's part of what gives the xB that "LOOK". Loose the roof and loose part of it's personality. Don't flame me because of my veiwpoint please. lol
Also wouldn't want to lower the seats. That was another big thing I loved. Ease of enter and exit.

i was at that show... to busy runnin it to get a closer look.... wheels...eh.. speak for themselves... but the chop is kinda cool... and the way it flares up at the hatch kinda makes it look like a built in spoiler/wing.....

You have to give it some credit for originality on the chop.....

like i said earlier the two tone and wheels make me want to stab myself in the eyes with a fork.

the windshield can not be "dropped" or sagged down like oldschool. and as you can tell from the pictures it is custom glass , as well as the rear windows , rear fixed windows and front windos. cutting the stock windshield to fit is easy getting custom windshields made is bank. cutting a brand new replacement windshield is scary to me. the rear glass would be way easier to do that the front. seeing as how the front would need a custom windscreen as the curves would have to match and come to think of it cutting it probably wouldn't work up front. the rear could easily be cut. the rear most side windows would be the hardest ting i would think other than the windshield .

I'll give him credit for the work. I just feel it was poorly executed. Unless you knew the xB as we do. You wouldn't notice any changes. Except for those fugly wheels and paint scheme. It looks like he forgot to peel off the green masking tape after the black parts were sprayed. What was he thinking? Honestly.

acording to the guy, he said it would have cost him 11,000 dollars to have a rear glass chopped. i think thats a little much but never-the-less i have not a clue. he said he spend over 350 hours on his box and did it all himself including paint.

now i happen to be a paint guru so the first thing i noticed wsa the not so great paint job, but for him not being a painter and doin it in the garage, props to that.

not a fan of the wheels, but if he likes them then whatever works for him.

all in all ithink it looks sweet. i hope more people go into doing this now that they have seen the true version.

the TRUE version is the five axis chop , now that's what a chop should look like. 11k for rear glass? hell no. more like a crafty glass guy to cut it or less than 1 k for a custom made piece. it's just curved. single curve......
