it is not as easy as just cutting off the top. You'll have to think about the body flex and strength of the cage when you do it.

think lots of money.

itll get a rollcage, and i did talk to a professional, he looked over it pretty well and told me that it wouldnt be insanely difficult to pull off, just drop it straight down in the back and pull the A pillars back, but yeah i plan to get this done with ASAP, idc how much it costs, lol, btw its getting a glass roof that extends from the back of the b-pillar the whole way to the hatch that goes from side to side with 5% tint on it, and a sunroof up front, that should make it a lil more difficult, but not much more difficult lol... do you think i am nuts for wanting to do this to a 2006 auto? lol, oh yeah, the B and C pillars will be pulled, but only slightly... if it is dropped properly you will only have to pull those towards the middle of the car, but mabe only about 1-3 inches MAX, and about the windows, if they dont cover it, i know where i can get it done

I think it would be more trouble then it's worth. Have to chop the top and do alot of fabrication to make it blend in, new glass all around, modified interior trim, etc. It would look badass.

Something that would be really kool and abit easier is copy the tC's roof and do a full glass roof on ur box with the opening sunroof. That's something I haven't seen on a box and would look bada$$.

It would be more trouble than it's worth. It would be really hard to make the roof out of glass if it's a daily driver. There is to much flex in the vehicles unibody construction(the roof is to long and wide) It would look cool though!

well the plastic would disappear, instead it would get a aluminum rollcage for support (i know people that live around me that build them for a living, lots of drag racing in my area) and it would be done in a anodized blue clear coat, that would provide the structural integrety, and no, its not going to be a daily driver, lol, its gonna be all show once its done, and yes, when its gets done, i will post pix, and to all you that say its not worth the work... shame on you, if you say something like that is not worth it then you know nothing about car customization... yes, i am 19, but that wont stop me, i AM a car addict, and the more radical it is the better... i like my box, but then i hate it at the same time, i love it bc of what it is, and i hate it bc of what it does not have that i want, the more i work on it the more i fall in love with it (in a figurative way of speech) if you find it a waste, PLEASE BUGGER OFF AND DO NOT POST THIS IS NOT INTENDED FOR YOU TO COME ON HERE AND DISMISS MY IDEAS!!! If you have a problem with it, just keep it to yourself and go to another forum, like i always say: "opinions are like @$$holes, everyone has one, and sometimes they stink" but yeah, idc how much it will cost, if it costs 2000... GREAT!!! if it costs 10,000... oh well, im willing... so long as it gets done, now as for the body im having trouble deciding btwn the AIT K1 Wide Body Kit or the EVO5 body kit... lol, going a lil off topic now, lol

PS: the removable hardtop sound cool and all, but i myself am not into that, why dont you try doing that yourself??? could come out really cool ... but that did give me an idea, mabe i could make the big glass panel removable in several pieces, like 4 pieces, like a T top is designed, but in 4 sections... or mabe one big removable piece...

I have always thought that a chopped chop, 4 inches or so, would be bada$$...However, I dont have the $$$ to pull it off...Just the custom cutting of the glass would kill me...Imagine getting it all done and then a rock flies up cracking your newly cut front widshield...I wish you luck and I want to see pix of the progress!

I think a chop would look great, if done with quality.

With that being said, I will drive to you and slap you if you get an EVO 5 kit. Those things are RICE-A-RONI. Anything but that disgrace of a kit!

Chopping an xB ruins the whole look. It's almost as bad as making a convertible out of it. Spend the money on good looking mods instead!!!
