cleared out headlights and the DMV
if i clear out my headlight by removing the orange reflector and install the silver coated orange lighting bulbs, will it pass inspection? i live in nj and have heard that there must be an orange reflector in the side markers. my worry is once i break em out they are not going back in. and would i have to worry bout tickets, all though a minor offence id rather not have the hassel... i never really modded any of my cars before so i was just curious... oh yea and i know there are plenty of posts about this but what corner lights are you guys using?

I don't know the laws in NJ, but Cali is really strict and cops have never tripped.
Not even on my old civic with clear coners. If you're worried, just don't use really
"blue" bulbs cuz they draw attention. Use amber or chrome/amber bulbs

they how do they sell cleared out headlights that are DOT approved?
I cleared my headlights on my truck, never gotten pulled over once for it. I use amber bulbs in the turn signals only beacause thats what they are supposed to be. But @ night its hard not to see my truck as I have some hella bright ___ foglights. people get out of my way when I drive behind them.

Dang, folks, why grope around with the advice of people who don't really know what they are talking about when just about every state has their motor vehicle code online? Here's the info, right from the state of NJ:

I told her she wasn't going to do it.. so she stood right next to me while I topped it off with every drop... had a long ride ahead & needed max gas....

Anyway... Back on topic, all you need is an amber reflector on the front of your car.
It can be anything from a stick-on reflector, reflector tape, or a built in plastic one. No vehicle anyware states that it must be built into your headlight. And most auto parts stores carry all different types of reflectors, red and amber, that can be legally used in any state. Don't get it twisted, if you need to be inspected, and they're looking for a reflector, as long as you have one (aftermarket or stock) you'll pass.
So before the inspection, just slap a stick on reflector and tell the law:

HAHAHA Oregon, when I stopped there late at night they did the same thing. Your not supposed to pump your own gas, then I said well if you guys would get the gas in the tank instead of on my car I would gladly let you do it.
They passed some law to make it mandatory for oregon people to pump the gas because the state wanted to create more jobs. I think it just creates more white people living in a trailerpark with broke down mustangs in the back yard.
as for smog, I lived in NEVADA never had to smog my car.
