For my next xB, I'm probably going to get a white one, tint the front windows to match the back, and have the exterior door handles painted black.

i'm surprised I'm the only smartass willing to point out that black and white are not colors at all.

ok, well, here's how color theory applies to cars - white is easy to keep clean (the easiest IMO) and black is definitely the hardest.

black, I think, is just plain badass, but on the box it doesn't allow the detail of the styling (or lack thereof) to show thru very well, escpecially with a limo tint.

white, on the other hand, looks so freakin smooth, and has a lot of 'pop'. once you get some nice rims and a tint, you're stylin.

My apologies first off for digging this thread up from the dead...

I've had my white xB now for a couple of months and I don't know why people say it's easy to keep clean because it's not! dirt shows up on it IMMEDIATELY after a car wash - i'm talking a couple of hours later, and i did NOT drive through puddles!

the wheel wells (the fender area) get dirty the quickest. second quickest, and i have no friggin clue why, is the rear hatch and the rear bumper!

I wipe down my box almost weekly but it still doesn't help. i'm running out of old ratty t-shirts to wipe my box down with! lol!

and if i didnt say this before - i do NOT have a garage but i park it in the shade... but still, i dont think a box should be collecting dirt this quickly. my black h2 doesn't collect dirt nearly as fast as this.

Does anyone know where I can get dirt repellent?

Dirt repellent If you find that let me know too. I have a PW and it does get dirty, the difference being that it hides it better than a darker color. The rear of the vehicle sucks up dirt because of it's shape. The Box gives it a draft that pulls dirt up and onto the rear bumper. You can try one of those California Car Washer wands, I personally don't like them but others swear by them. My PW stays better looking when dirty than darker colors until it rains.

It may hide it better but it's still shockingly visible from afar... You can tell when the bottom half of the car looks like it's a dirty (off-white) and the top of the car looks clean as hell (bright white!)

or you can just play if off as a nice fading paint job

I meant for it to look like that, yeah, that's the ticket.

It seems like neither are able to hide dirt.

With the paint being what it is on these cars, go white to hide the swirls.

I like salsa red!
However, given only the choice of B&W I'd have to use the most scientific method I know to break a tie.
A coin toss. ;)

White....Something about a tint in combination with the
white A & C-pillar, with the blacked out B-pillar looks awsome. (IMHO)
