Default Colored security remote covers?????

Do the colered security remote covers work for the xb? I thought someone told me that they only worked for the Xa keyless entry.. I just have the keyless entry no alarm.. Thanks for any help. BTW i saw them on Scionsport.com..

Im pretty sure they work for both xa & xb, if its just a factory replacement remote then im pretty sure they work with all standard toyota alarms. If you looked @ recent toyotas the alarm remote looks all the same. But if you dont take my advice try contacting someone @ the parts department of toyota & just ask.

Yeah, I'd ask Toyota...I thought I remember a sign saying
something like "colored remotes only available for xA"

They don't work on the xB's. I ordered one from a site that said it would work on the xB's but when I got it it didn't work. It sure looks like it would but there is a slight difference between the two that makes them not work. I don't know why Scion doesn't make some for us xB owners! But hey you can always sand it down and paint it! That's what I did to my GMC remote.

No it's the same shape but it's the keypad that's different. You can't put the circuit board in there for the differences in the keypad. The colored ones are rubber where as the stock xB one is plastic. You kinda have to see it in person and play with it to fully understand why it won't work. Maybe somebody has modded it someway to "make" it fit, but I don't know.

So are these completely different fobs, or just -covers- (snap on face plates) for the standard xB fobs? I was thinking just covers...

Snap on face plates (rubberized?) would be so cooool

i dunno, that would make them bulky, i dont like when things get bulkier than they need to, like cell phones, they used to have those rubber outter sleeves for some of them, they were ugly and bulky

No the keypad is rubber (The button you press.) Not the whole remote. And yeah it's just the front faceplate.
