Back OT, nice pics of your trip.
Nobody twisted your arm to read this thread. Now go away if have have nothing nice to say.
...and to the rest of you guys, thanks again for the nice comments.
Those of you who know me have no doubt figured that the purpose of this thread was not to brag. I only mentioned the other cars involved to explain why taking the xB on the trip was such a novelty. Besides, that must have been some trailer park "zombietime" grew up in if he thought mentioning a CRV was bragging!
(P.S. Zombie, your Midol and Tampax are in the mail...)

I was all wondering why he would do what he did other than making himself look like a dumbazz. Daniel had nothing but comments on his whole trip then this troll comes in here and tries to badmouth him. HELLO, we know Daniel. He's one of our family members DUH. what a loser.
Toasterboy, you will love long trips in the box. It's the first vehicle I could do 700 miles in 10 hrs and not feel all beat to crap when arriving.

I changed out struts and shocks for Monroe Sensatrac and have loved the difference. Also put the H-tech springs to control the yaw I was getting when I'd hit on-ramps.
Much different ride.
Much different ride.

Yes, as a matter of fact it's sitting about 20 feet away from me at my office today! I've had quite a few problems with it lately, and it was down for about a month and a half - the joys of 38-year-old-car life - but I think they're all finally sorted out. I don't usually take it to work, but I just couldn't resist today; it's going to be about 70 degrees with a clear blue sky, and I was just itchin' to drive the beast after all that down time.
I'm the Vice President of a local classic Mustang club, and we have quite a few shows, cruises and outings we sponsor to keep it exercised properly!

Actually, those are all in Cambria (about another 140 miles up the coast from S.B. near Hearst Castle), and in the hills above it along Stone Creek Rd. We love the place. We keep trying to figure a way to move there permanently, but I haven't quite managed to parlay a multi-million dollar hedge fund quite yet!
Oh, then you've got to take the little lady up there. It's an awesome "romantic getaway", if you know what I mean. Stay somewhere on Moonstone Beach, and if you go in the off-season, it'll be a bit more affordable.
If you ever decide to make the trip, let me know and I'll give you the hot tips on where to stay and eat.

Also, you must be on your second set of tires. What did you go with?

Mine are a flexible strip with 3M tape on the back that just adhere to the present black rubber on the car. They take a bit of work to keep straight - being warm helps - but look pretty nice when you're done. Even fairly close up they look like a quality, rigid piece of stainless or chrome.

They were originally like $75 or $80, but then dropped WAY down in price, so I grabbed a set. I couldn't say how they stack up to the "replacement" variety, but I'm happy - just kind of a pain to put on.
