Rostra unit is in my car, and is very good. I just had the dealer install it before delivering the car. I've only had one problem, and that is the throttle cable sticking sometimes after using the cruise control. It's only moderately annoying, though.
I have an 06 on order in the LA area, the dealer told me there is no cruise control available for it. I will ask him if they will install the Rostra model.
I know this is a lot of car for the price, I think in the interest of fuel economy, they'd put cruise control in and bump the price up a couple hundred. No biggie, I'll find one, one way or another, and get it installed.

I'm in the Gulf States Region, and my xA, which is on order, is supposed to arrive with cruise installed at the port. Actually all of my ordered accessories (except for tint) is supposed to be installed at the port (roof rack, wing, bumper pad...)
Installed the Rostra myself. Easy as pie if you have ever done anything like that before. Can purchase from Allscion.com. Be sure to ask them for the correct wire connections at the ECM as the 06 has changed pin positions.
Great comments and suggestions! I called a couple dealers in Riverside county but none will install for me. I found a vender who said it's a two hour job and only five wires. Perhaps I'll attempt. I'll make a few calls to some local repair shops and see if they'll install. Rather pay for experience then screw something up myself.
Just in case you want to look at the install manual for the Rostra in the xA/xB, here it is...

The manual is a little confusing but on the Allscion site there are some notes by two or three guys that have installed it. After reading their comments the manual seemed pretty straight forward and with their input the job was even easier. Like I said in the previous post the speed sensor and nss wire are not in the same position on the connectors but the speed sensor wire is the same color as in the instructions. If you have a 5 speed that will be the only change. You will need a 10mm socket and a coupe of 12mm open end wrenches.
I have the dealer installed cruise control in my xA. It works better than the factory cruise control in my Subaru Forester....
I definitely see the savings in mileage on long road trips...
I also enjoy not having to sit on a pedal for more than a couple hundred miles....

The 06' have a differnt tach or speed sense wire in the harness. I don't know exactly what one is different but the 06 has a different ECM and color wiring. I'll be putting a cruise in our xA before Christmas as I'm finally taking it on a road trip to Vegas and refuse to foot it all the way.
