Default Dealer problem?

My dealer (who was informed by me and at first skeptical of the mid year changes on the Xb) is telling me it will take several months to get one with the changes, but that I can get one w/o the midyear changes by the end of the month. Just wanted to know if that sounds right or not? If they are being produced now, why would it take several months? Are the allotments they are getting now produced several months ago? I'm not a know it all, and any info would be appreciated.

We have them in our allocation now. This means we should see them within the next 3-4 weeks, we are in the Ohio area though so I don't know about other regions.

According to the official release from Scion, they will begin arriving at west coast dealers the end of December, and should make it to the east coast by the middle of January.

Does your dealer have lots of orders to fill? That could be one reason for the delay...

Huh, we haven't been allocated these cars yet, but I have an allocation tomorrow and expect to see them then.

Depending on their location after that we should start to see them in 3-4 weeks if they are immediately released by our management.

Getting a specific color/transmission combination may take much longer though. It took me 3 months to get a manual, flint mica tC this summer simply because allocation was low (as I expect it to be with these new xBs) and that was a VERY popular combination.

You should see them on the allocation beginning tomorrow, but you are right, they will be hard to get for awhile. Basically, they need to get them to all of the dealer across the country, so most dealers won't get too many at first. That's why I asked if his dealer had orders to fill...if they already have orders for that color, it may take awhile to get one. I am currently having problems with Flint xA's in manual with side air bags. It is taking at least 8 weeks to get them!

The dealer does not have any orders for an Xb specifically with steering wheel controls. No one there knew what I was talking about, I had to have them look up the press release, so I'm sure no customers had made a specific request for one.

Yeah, sounds like you have run into an undereducated dealership. That's okay, it happens to good people like you all the time. We can help.

Where are you at? The dealers on SL know the people to ask all over the country. We can hook you up with someone more knowledgable if you like.

Man, Peoria is like exactly 100 miles from EVERYWHERE isn't it!

Anyway, I have a message out to a guy and as soon as I hear back I'll let you know what I come up with.

At the moment, the best guys I know of are around 200 miles from you in St. Louis and Cedar Rapids. We'll do better though. No worries.

Yeah, there is another dealer in a neighboring city, but the dad had a bad experience there, real lousy salesman, and the next closest place would be Springfield I think.

Okay, it looks like Springfield is your place. You want to talk to J.C. Alexander and tell him that you were refered in (indirectly) by Jason Holmes (who gave him a glowing review) and myself (although he probably won't know who the hell I am!). Their number is 217-698-3100. J.C. should be able to hook you up with everything you need with a minimum of fuss and frustration.

Let us know how everything goes!

for the record i bought 2 '06 xb's this last week and the camo one took 4 weeks to get, the white one took 1 week to get. im in california too. different dealers told me different times but this one had the shortest wait so i bought both there... do the scion search on scions site and dealers will call you with what they have and how fast they can get it. i got about 4 dealers replies...
