Default DiLeMMa...DiLeMMa!?!?

HeLLo feLLow SciON LoVeRs!!!

I/WE (fiance' and I) are in between a rock and a hard place...You see we got a RS 1.0 two weeks ago and after much looking we could only get an AT. He really wanted a MT and I wanted the AT because I hate shifting in traffic. I have been driving it most of the time and we argue about taking it everywhere (He wants to leave it home if we are going really crowded places because of parking issues?).

Now one of the dealers we were callling has called us with a MT RS. So now we are debating if we should trade in our 99 SI so we can get another one. He will have his MT and I will have my AT. He can't believe how fun the XB is to drive and orange is his favorite color. Seems kind of crazy to me to have two RS 1.0s in the driveway. We put $6K down on the first one so that payment is $200. With the trade and another $1K this payment should be around $150. $350 for two brand new boxes doesn't seem too bad. A lot of people pay more than that for 1 car.

What are your thoughts? Please hurry because we only have a few days to make the decision. Is he crazy?

I say go for it. However, people who know you may ask questions like..."why did you get 2 identical vehicles? that's so stupid!" Things like that. But, don't listen to crap. Go with your gut instinct. :D

I traded in my 2003 Civic Si for Xb.

My wife and I are planning on having a kid sometime this year... And I just couldn't see myself taking baby in and out of two door hatch back. yet, I hate big cars.

So, Xb worked out to be a perfect car for me.

Manual or Automatic is completely different issue... but, if you are going to share the car with your future husband, and you don't like shifting gear through traffic, he should give up his ideals and buy the automatic. If he gives you a hard time, let me know. I will try to convince him.

Two hot lava's would rock. sure your neighbors would think you strange but who cares. Parking issues?? once you park the thing ya have either 4 ft of space in front or behind ya. The funniest thing I think is the foldable mirrors for "parking in tight spaces" if ya can find a space that tight should ya really be parking there? I say go for it, and if your fiance thinks about it too long, kick his a$$.

I think I would wait until the tC comes out. I don't think I would like two vehicles that are exactly the same. Of course, I am an identical twin, so maybe I am trying to relate

If you want to go for it. As for the "2 of the same cars is stupid" arguement, the xB doesn't really apply. With it's "peppy" performance, yet cargo capacity, it is capable of serving both fun & hauling duties for a family. So, yes they may be the same car, but one can be stock & the other have a 3-megawatt stereo system.

Now the only issue I see is if you need a truck of some sort to haul stuff. If not, then this is the ideal second car for you. My wife and I almost made the same decision, but decided to keep our other car (`99 Accord).

ScionFellas, Thanx for all the advice and opinions!

A few of you said to wait and get a tC or a limited xA, well we have a lil' family I have an 8 yr old and me and my fiance' have a 7 month old, so the all the room in the xB is awesome! That's the main reason why we bought the xB, the SI just wasn't cuttin it, lots of chiropractic care. I just think it would be really strange to have 2 orange boxes sittin out on the driveway...talk about blinding on a bright sunny day!

We're still tryin to figure it out, it's still in discussion... thanx again!!!

SAME exact situation here, best thing I ever did. I am as happy with this inexpensive car as I would have ver been with a more expensive car with all the creature comforts. F - that! I am happier for sure!
