Like a sound dampening thing for road noise?

What does that question have to do with the thread title????????

And, I don't think it does. I don't recall seeing that under my Box.

Well I had to make it relative to the discussion area.... Inapproiate title I guess but I just thought I would kill two birds with one stone.

I've seen the undercoating on some xB's and on others (Like mine) they don;t have it. I was just wondering if I could take it back to the dealership to get it done free of charge! Haha...
Wishful thinking huh....

Does it make that much of a difference?
I was thinking about just getting some eDead v.3.0. and under coating my fenders to help reduce road noise but I want to make sure it's a good investment before I spend that kind of money and put that kind of effort into a project.....

I have a friend who has that Dead stuff on his box, and it's real quiet in there.

Myself, I don't think the Box is that loud, but I used to drive Air Cooled Bugs, so the Box is a lot quieter.

could be cosmolean(sp) they put it on vehicles crossing the ocean to deter rusting from all the salt and crap but there supposed to clean it off before sale but usually skip the underside because they would have to put it on a lift and thats not very conducive to efficiency when your trying to get cars off the boat i would imagine.

So there is a noteable differnence? I thought my box was quiet to a point until I got 19" rims with 215 35 19R low profile tires. If the eDead stuff works I'd love to invest in it to quite the ride down. Truthfully I ride with the stereo up 99% of the time but when it's off I start to hear all kinds of noises.....it's embarassing.....

I got a flat the other day and drove 7miles to the nearest gas station and checked my air pressure and it was seriously at zero. I got them Yoko runflats boy!!!!

Huh? I had no idea they did that.....it makes sense though. No this stuff I saw on a box at the dealership was a find of firm foam type substance. Like you could dig your fingernail into it but you couldn't rip it off. I don't know if it made a differnence because I didn't ride in it

It's difficult to apply the eDead v.3 in the fender wells, unless you're ok with it all being bright baby blue. If you remove the fender liner you'll see why. I applied it to all my doors, coated the back of the fender liners, some on the metal behind the liners, and the front quarter panel.

I remember reading on here somewhere that a rust stopper type undercoating will void the rust warranty, since it clogs weep holes up. Might better do your sound proofing inside?
