Default Does anyone run SCCA with their scion xb?

Thinking about doing it after all good gas, new car, little to work on....just wondering and what suspension mods your running?
I'm thinking about getting the cusco brace and beefing up the suspension since its killing my back riding on the tein springs right now.

I'd be interested to know too, I think I'm going to do suspension mods first on the car. Only had it for a week so far, so I'm pretty new to these cars and want to see what setup works well together and what doesn't.

I don't do the SCCA thing simply because I feel that's something you do with a car with more power.... it's fun to slip and slide into corners with a ton of HP to back your next move....

you can definitely do some nice turns in the xB though, but to me, it's no fun unless you can make all the wheels spin during turns (both wheels or all four - hint hint)

you don't need a lot of power to be fast.

Look at all the miata's and mini's eating the vettes for lunch on any given day at auto-x

all you need is driving skills and a well set up car to be competative in scca/solo-2

My favorite quote "You don't need a faster car. You need a faster driver."
Power isnt everything in auto-x, its about driver skill and suspension. I still run H-Stock. Hoping to be in STS next season.

and yea, auto-x is not a drifting event. no1 out there wants an idiot doin ebrake slids and fishtailin on every corner.

and the scca is a sanctioning body over like 6 racing things. its auto-x or more properly called solo-2.

Well I can't really just drop the xb for something else since i do running autox. Its to reliable of a car and w/ gas going up i don't think I'll have my real dream car anytime soon (RX7 ls1)...

It's not the springs. It's the stock shocks. I changed my stockers for the Monroe Sensatracks and difference is night and day. I'm lowered and a nice ride.

BTW, I have autocrossed the box with great results. It's NOT about how much power you have. It's all about car placement in the turns and being SMOOTH. People were all like "WOW, I can't believe the way that box takes the corners" "You actually lift the rear tires going through the corners". I love my Box for sooo many reasons!

yea, i was told a few times yesterday i looked smooth. although, ppl say it looks like i m not pushing hard enough which may be true, but to me it feels like i m pushing hard. and on one of the vids, u can hear some1 say, it looks like he just three wheeled it, but the vids are shotty so u cant see it. i did not think it was possible for being stock.
